My self-summary
What can I tell you about me? First and foremost, I’m a gentleman and much of what that implies – intelligent, strong, and decisive. I may be bold at times, but I am laid back and open to suggestion. There is an old joke about guys not asking for directions. Well, I will - right after consulting my GPS. Seriously, a number of friends suggested that I rewrite my profile emphasizing openness, honesty, and integrity. I do have a rather dry sense of humor. The woman that I am looking for has to relate to it and have her own particular funny streak.

As for connecting, after the initial emails I prefer to hear your voice via cell phone. It is what it is.

Another thing that you should know, I enjoy live events. Even if we could watch the same thing on TV, it just is not the same.
What I’m doing with my life
So what am I doing with my life? Nothing at all. I just goof off. LOL!!! If you believe that, I want to sell you a bridge...

After starting my career in accounting and financial analysis, I moved to systems and, eventually, to starting an unrelated business. Several years after my 1999 divorce, I went back to school and earned my JD. I don't practice law. Rather I write for several licensed attorneys, teach paralegals, and market financial products. True, it can be rewarding. However, the attraction for me is the flexibility.
I’m really good at
I listen to people. I'm not an artisan, a famous lawyer, or a tactician in a great battle. I haven't solved differential equations in many years. I don't have tremendous insights. I just listen to people and act accordingly.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm calm. I keep my composure and can be objective in tough times. (Never let them see you sweat...or cry for that matter.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
How can the same person who enjoys Beethoven, Copland, and jazz listen so much to foreign news over the Internet and talk radio?

As for reading, I do a lot for my job. It is good that I did a lot of reading in my youth.

It is amazing what I have learned by reading history. I don't read the newspapers any more. Why waste my time on the rags of our time? I would rather go to the movies and be entertained. At least I would know what I was getting.

As for food, I like most everything. Although I eliminated beef last year, I will consume it when I am a guest. I love cooked seafood and don't eat raw sushi. (I have highly limited my consumption of chicken also.)

I do have I problem though. I like frozen yogurt too much!
Six things I could never do without
faith, my kids, a toothbrush and floss (O.K. That's really two things, but let's lighten up.), my best friend, Chocolate, the ocean
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Human nature. It is out of my control. However, I still think about it.
On a typical Friday night I am
alone, talking on the phone, or trying a new restaurant with a friend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You should message me if
I am in a profession that looks upon plagiarism as in the client's interest, and therefore, good. I'll admit that I lifted the following paragraph from another profile. I liked it that much!

" seriously want to meet someone with whom you want to be in a relationship for the long-haul. You want a partner who is reasonably intelligent, somewhat spontaneous, more often than not irreverent and always passionate about life. If you want to experience the next phase of life as an adventure, drop me a line."
