My self-summary

Did you know that there are currently 6.84 BILLION people on this planet? Yeah, and I was raised to believe that there is just ONE soul mate out there for me. I realized, after a time, how laughable this is. Boy and girl meet, make babies, buy a house, and grow old together. Not a bad scenario, but quite unrealistic in terms of our behaviours, and one I do not want!

I think that there are TONS of people I can and will get along with. There are people who will foster my climbing side, relish my cooking side, appreciate my talkative side, and love me for my lovable side. But to put the stipulation on just one person that they must fulfill all of these roles, even as I age and change, is unrealistic!

So if you want to follow the standard life-track, no need to keep reading. But if you want to take life, relationships, and fun as it comes, then let's talk :D

I was talking about this with one of my friends. He said that when he got married, they wrote their own marriage vows, and ended them with: “As long as love shall last.” They've had some rocky times, when one or the other was ready to quit, but have kept it together with communication. Ready to communicate?
What I’m doing with my life
Loving it! I'm a passionate climber, and live to move fluidly over rock. I also like to cook (especially as the temps drop), talk about religion and science, ride my many bikes (car-free!), take pictures, and skip work to climb more. As Calvin said: "I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul."

I have been really getting into Acro Yoga as well for the last year. It's a great compliment to climbing, as it works out all my pushing and lifting muscles. I'm really excited to get better, and play with a consistent partner and work on progressively difficult skills.

I worked a couple professional jobs that required 50-60hrs a week, and hated it. I decided to work less, and enjoy life more; I didn't move here from IL to work all day.

I've been around for three decades now, and have realized: nothing ever works out the way it's supposed to; the previous is really fun when I roll with it; I'm still here. So I'm pretty ok with NEVER having my shit together. I'm living an intentionally fun life, and that's what matters.
I’m really good at
I'm good at climbing, basing, singing, riding bikes, eating, ice skating, making food, camping, smiling, dancing without a care, taking pictures, making little kids smile, listening to music, staying up late, sleeping in, and constantly being amazed at how fun Colorado can be!
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm very tall, and usually am smiling, singing, whistling, or all of the above (it's a bit like inward singing).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
To whittle a long list down to the essentials: Siddhartha, most Philip K. Dick, The Matrix, Fight Club, Cowboy Bebop, Radiohead, Mozart, chocolate-banana pancakes, and any of my Mom's cooking.

I used to be a bookworm, but since my chrysalis was broken on these mountains in my backyard, I've strived to explore my physical self.

Currently, I'm reading Sex at Dawn, listening to Phoenix, eating my homemade stir-fry (waaay to much habanero), and I just enjoyed watching the Animatrix.
Six things I could never do without
Mountains, sunshine, my hands and feet, and friendship
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I climbed, where to climb next, how to get that hard acro move, how to expand my patience, why people believe in gods, how similar languages are to each other, the lyrics to that song I'm singing, how to do more with less, why people want to leave Colorado, wondering if I'll ever meet someone who wants to climb as much as I do...
On a typical Friday night I am
Soloing on the Dome or the First Flatiron. My job keeps me near both, and it's a great way to unwind and center.

Otherwise, hanging out with the roomies, watching a movie, or planning my next trip outside!

Since I got back from Burning Man, I've been on Pearl St a bit more. At the Burn, I really enjoyed dancing till sunrise, and amazing conversations on the Playa; I hope to inject some more of both into my everyday life.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was around 7yrs old, I split my pants during gymnastics in front of all the other kids and parents. But I'm getting back into it with acro yoga. My handstand is coming along, and I'm getting stronger!
You should message me if
If you want to go climbing! I prefer to climb outside, and love to sink my hands into cracks while trad climbing. Eldo is in season!

I've also been spending quite a bit of time doing Acro Yoga; it's more than just a distraction from climbing :P ESPECIALLY contact me if you have a gymnastic, acrobatic, or yoga background. I'd also like to find someone to play with who is significantly smaller than I am. You're just much easier to lift over my head :D

You like to have nice discussions ^ we choose a good place to meet → we will have lunch

I will buy you dinner iff you will get the next one

If you want to work on handstands together.

If you want to juggle. I'm working on: four balls; three clubs; my columns; and also trading seven balls.

I also like to go dancing, preferably at Tahona, or Press Play. I'm the guy tearing up the dance floor.
