My self-summary
I'm a Theatrical and Academic professional. I'm an actor/director/performer/improviser/teacher/pretend sick person. I'm funny, fun, and ready to meet women who can really appreciate what I have to offer. I was almost run over by Mr Rodgers once. Really.

Also, I'm a Hufflepuff. The Sorting Hat said so.

In my grad class, we decided that if you got your MFA in Acting, that meant you were a Jedi. My classmates tried to tell me that I was a Sith. I am unconvinced.

ENFJ-A, if you're curious. (Only 2% of the population. I'm a rarity!)

If you like my profile, I'm flattered! (But I likely can't see who you are when you do it, so just send me a brief message! I'd be happy to chat!)
What I’m doing with my life
I teach in the Department of Theatre & Dance of a small liberal arts university in central Ohio. I'm originally from Pittsburgh.

I love to teach Acting (that's what my MFA is in) and the goal I'm working towards to is to be a full-time professor of Theatre at a college/university and also continue my professional acting and directing career.
I’m really good at
Listening, first and foremost; you can't perform realistically onstage if you're not listening. I'm very good at listening with my whole awareness; if you're really paying attention, no one needs to tell you any gossip, you can pick it all up yourself. I'm very good at teaching, at acting, improvising, and at answering strange trivia questions that no one in their right minds should know the answer to, such as: Why do doctors wear white coats?

Also, in my time as a performer, I've had to do a lot of dialects. Like, a lot. Examples: Northern Irish, Southern Irish, American South, British RP, Australian, Austrian, Russian, Scottish, and Swahili. Yes, Swahili. I'm not saying that I can speak all of those languages, but I am saying that I can speak to you in English with one of those accents. So, that's a skill.

In my last year at graduate school, I conceived, crafted, produced, and directed a piece of devised Theatre. It was called "The Honesty Project: FAU," and it was based on anonymous answers to a questionnaire that I developed. Taking the responses, I made a script out of them, added a band to provide some live musical accompaniment, asked friends to provide some choreography, and cast the show. It was really well-received and got a professional production in a local Florida fringe festival the following summer. That's probably the most fulfilling project I've ever taken on, from beginning to end. So, after reading that, whatever that indicates to you I'm good at, that's what I'm good at.

Here's a YouTube link to it:
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes (they're very blue), my laugh (very loud and obnoxious, the one when I really genuinely think something is funny), my hair (it's pretty thick and wavy), or my voice (it's very deep).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: SO many... my favorite two writers at the moment are probably Bret Easton Ellis and Chuck Klosterman; everything I've read from each of them, I've loved. My second major in college was English, so I've read a lot of books and have lots of favorites. Favorite book, right now, if you pinned down? The Rules of Attraction, by Bret Easton Ellis

Movies: All of Christopher Nolan's movies, especially Memento; Stanley Kubrick's movies, Lincoln was amazingly good, and so was Argo. The Godfather films of course, Pan's Labyrinth. MST3K!

Shows (to me this means Theatre): Waiting for Godot, Red Herring (this is the show I wrote my MFA Thesis on), all of Shakespeare, The Clearing, Rounding Third, Too Much Bathwater Makes the Baby Go Blind by the Neo-Futurists

Music: The Who, REM, Mumford & Sons, Fun., Florence + The Machine, other random songs that I think are good when I listen to them.

Food: I am a holder of minority opinions on food. I don't like coffee, cinnamon, and pickles. Anything else I'll give a fair shot.
The six things I could never do without
Theatre, Teaching, happy dogs, Laughter, Love, good food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I should be doing other than sitting and thinking about things. This is an issue with me. I always feel like I need to be doing and making things happen. Sometimes this is helpful and it spurs me to accomplish excellent things, and sometimes this stresses me out.

Also, women.
On a typical Friday night I am
At the movies or at a bar with friends or seeing a show or in a show myself or maybe staying home. I'm difficult to predict!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can name all of the Presidents of the United States in order without consulting any reference material and I used to be able to do it with the Vice-Presidents as well, and I can recite the opening paragraph of the Declaration of Independence. It's always a hit at parties.
You should message me if
If you dig good conversation, big laughs and awesome interactions (possibly in different dialects)!

I promise, if you write me, I'll reply in complete sentences and with proper grammar! Send me a message!

No drama please. I love my job, but it is very challenging. I have no mental space to devote to drama.
