My self-summary
Part musician, part academic, part science and sci fi geek, part runner, and small part show-tunes/pop-diva-loving stereotype.
What I’m doing with my life
A hodgepodge. I've been: a music director in New Jersey, a management consultant in New York, a songwriter in Korea, a development worker in Guatemala, a product manager in San Francisco, and an MBA student at Stanford. I currently work as a data analyst and consultant for the movie industry.
I’m really good at
Singing, sight-reading, listening, thinking rationally, making salsa, using Microsoft Excel, deadpanning, cynicism, watching TV marathons, avoiding taking sides in conversations.
The first things people usually notice about me
1) I am quiet but quirky - get me talking about something geeky or inappropriate and I'll light up
2) I have a slightly lazy eye, which I use to perform wizardry
3) I have killer legs (thanks mom, and running)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: LotR, Atlas Shrugged, Harry Potter, Dune, A Short History of Nearly Everything, Ready Player One, The Name Of The Wind.

Movies: I watch a marathon of Lord of the Rings every year on New Years - it's like a giant steaming bowl of chicken soup for me. Clueless, Mean Girls, Sound Of Music, Contact, Spanglish, Wall-E, The Incredibles, Serenity, anything with Jodi Foster in it, X-2, any excellent sci fi movie. The final scene of The Miracle Worker made me cry, so I thought that should be noted here too.

Television: I am a Whedonite. Firefly and Buffy first. Other loves: Downton Abbey, Arrested Development, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Battlestar Galactica, Avatar: TLA and Legend of Korra, Terminator: TSCC, Friday Night Lights, Louie, Archer. I think Game of Thrones is better than the books.

Music: I'm a sucker for the romantic generations and film scores. Mahler, Rachmaninoff, Vaughan Williams, Schumann, Chopin. But then also: about 1/3 of country music, Whitney Houston 1985-1993, musical theatre, Joni Mitchell.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order: piano, Chipotle, running shoes, fruit, classical music, air conditioning
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Chords. And what it would be like to go back 10 years but retain all of my current knowledge.
On a typical Friday night I am
Catching up on TV shows, going for a run, trying on weird pants, probably staring at a wall for a while.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I do not have stereoscopic vision and therefore cannot see 3D movies, 3D humans, or 3D anything. On the plus side, I see double of everything!

Also, I used to be afraid of wearing shorts when I was a kid. I was embarrassed that people would look at my legs after I'd hidden them for so long with pants. But don't worry - I've left those 19th-century woman's sensibilities behind and now I prefer to go underwear-only whenever possible.
You should message me if are normal, but not too normal are low-key, but occasionally really passionate and intense are level-headed and quick-witted
