My self-summary
I have strong moral values. I am a feminist, an abolitionist and a Sea Sheperd supporter. If you feel like you can convince me to change my mind, feel free to try, I'm always up for a debate.
I'm all for meeting new people, wherever that leads us . No real standards when it comes to age or origins, just someone fun to be with.
I'll admit to being sapiosexual...I like a girl with a big brain who's not afraid to use it. What I'm really looking for is someone who'll send me articles of Nature or Science, urging me to read them so we can talk about it, or is open-minded when I come up with some adventure that might be fun...or just weird :D
Kinda shy, that's why you won't see a lot of pictures of me...I'm usually the guy behind the camera (which is the best excuse not to be on the photo)
Can speak French, English and Italian (I'd love to speak Italian more often, if you're up for it)
What I’m doing with my life
Teaching English & English Lit. in High-school.
And when I'm not facing hordes of teenagers or marking copies, You'll usually find me reading, at some weird art installation or, weather abiding, riding my motorbike.
Using the long holidays to travel around : Being to Santiago thrice, crossed the alps north to South and I've been eyeing the John Muir Trail, the continental divide and that new 24k kms trail across Canada...if you're up for a challenge...
I like to take pictures. I could be that guy you saw at 4 in the morning, waiting 2 hours in the cold to get the right shot. Here's a few from last summer if you care to have a look
and because people have asked, she's my best friend :p
Using any chance I've got to learn, about anything really (even though I've a thing for natural science & social studies)
Recently, I've been spending a lot of time at the fablab and started a bioengineering course...just because
I’m really good at
Hopefully teaching, as I don't want to scar generations of students.
I'm allegedly quite good at remembering weird, outdated or plain made-up words, just because I like the way they sound, and somehow using them in their proper context. (Please do message me if you too enjoy Vellichor!]
It takes me some time to know people but I'm a dedicated friend (as long as it goes both ways).
I couldn't run for my life (never had to, to be honest) but I can hike all day long...literally...that and I also like to think I'm a fairly good diver.
The first things people usually notice about me
Maybe my peculiar sense of humor?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
House of Leaves by M. Danielewski
Really anything by either Tolkien, Pratchett or Gaiman
Travels books: Jules Vernes, Jack London (the Road & the Iron Heel), Mark Twain (especially Roughin'it, because that's the way I like to travel)...
Romain Gary, Camus

I have a thing for mafia movies
Indie movies, Z movies, anything as long as its not too mushy
Ghibli movies Monty Python...

Classic Rock,Blues Rock (Black keys, BRMC...), Blues, Electronic music or even Classical (I might ask you to marry me on thespot if you can play Rach2).

Japanese, Indian...I'm fairly open-minded when it comes to food.
That said, I can make some mean vegetarian quiches and lasagnas...

Watch the classics, with a few drama (The Hour...) but I have to admit my favorites are the weird ones with a bit (understand: a lot) of black humor: Black books, Father Ted, FotC, Garth Marenghi's...
I do watch Colbert, John Oliver & Bill Maher, sometimes makes me feel like I know more about US politics than France's
TED, not the movie, the website.
The six things I could never do without
Nature: The long holidays allow for extensive treks with my ever-so-faithful hammock (usually 2/3 weeks)
Sea: That's what i go back to eventually. Childhood's dream was to be a diver on Cousteau's Crew. Turns out I'm not but still, I'll get in the water any chance I get.
Books: By trade, I'm a literary translator so books are really special to me. And there's something about the smell and touch of old paper...
Abroad: I've spent quite some time abroad and I kinda miss the whole "Auberge Espagnole" thing. I enjoy the thrill of meeting new cultures, discovering new landscapes, food...(going to countryside Japan made me feel like a stranger for the first was amazing)
Foreigners: If you lived abroad, you know the feeling: You like your home friends but nothing beats an evening chatting with people from 10 different countries and 10 different opinions!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Alternative living, tiny houses or really the most efficient way to make the most of little!
On a typical Friday night I am
Most likely hanging out at friends or in a pub/restaurant
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sing along to the radio when I drive, when I shower...any chance I get, really...
After seeing lot of people talking about it here, I took the MBTI and turns out I'm supposed to be INFJ...seems accurate enough from the description
Oh, and I once landed on a roof...
You should message me if
You actually like my profile. Probably like most people, I can't see who actually "liked" it. Just say hi, I don't bite, and I'm always up to meet new people ;)
You're up to no good and looking for a mischief buddy or just if you feel like we could actually enjoy each other's company.
