My self-summary
I'm an aspiring flâneur (i.e. a fancy 19th century French history term for a guy who walks the citya loafer). I'm also a country rube from a part of California that features prominently in the Grapes of Wrath. And, even though I've broadened my horizons, I'm still most comfortable with the stuff I was into growing up.

I use CouchSurfing (which got ruined) and foursquare (also ruined). I'm dilettantish in pursuing my interests, which are too numerous for someone so lazy. I'm a complete hypocrite, but I feel bad about it. I actually did graduate from Space Camp, but even there I was one of the weird/ostracized kids. I may be a foamer, and I used to have an HO scale layout.

Looking for: long term dating with the people I get along really well with; long term friendships with everyone; short term dating and friends who are also casual amorous partners when that's what's appropriate for the situation. But, in any case, I'm mainly just seeking someone to talk about games, sci-fi, and fantasy with.

I'm friendly to poly, non-monogamy, and kink, but don't insist on them in a relationship.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to get the good ending in Bust-a-Move.

Working as a public interest lawyer to pay for stuff.

Occasionally distance running when I'm not too lazy.
I’m really good at
Ain't good at pretty talkin', that's for damned sure.
The first things people usually notice about me

Why am I such an idiot?

Are archaeopteryx fossils still cool after having found feathered raptor fossils?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes a crooner version of "Get Low" by Lil' Jon & The East Side Boyz randomly pops into my head. Imagine it sung by Dean Martin to the tune of "Sixteen Tons." As far as I know, no such song exists.

Yakety Sax (the Benny Hill theme) and fast motion makes everything funny.
You should message me if
(1) You want to talk about or play video games together.

And you like ones with quality stories and design and recognize that the medium is capable of hosting the ultimate Gesamtkunstwerk,* but you can also enjoy some low brow stuff or plain old games for games' sake.

*(okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration)

Especially message me for this reason. It's not my only interest, but it's my favorite one and the hardest for me to find people who share it here.

(2) You want company for this other stuff:
(a) board games like Settlers of Catan, Cranium, Munchkin, Nuclear War, Dominion, Fluxx, Risk, CharDee MacDennis, Tongo;
(b) going to old-timey restaurants, bars, etc.;
(c) a pilgrimage to a Frank Lloyd Wright building;
(d) finding kitsch things, like in this map I made for Los Angeles.

(3) You're a ginger. Not that you shouldn't if you aren't, but red/orange hair is just cool. It's almost as cool as short haircuts.
