My self-summary
Was born, now living, will probably die.

In der Beschränkung zeigt sich der Meister (Goethe 1802)
What I’m doing with my life
Now that's a tough one. Trying to find a way to make a living with the things I like to do. Did try the consulting thing for a bit, but although the money was good, the work was far from gratifying. So now back to my old career. Which isn't half bad, seeing as I got to teach at one of the foremost faculties in the world and built up my own clinic at the same time.
Having reached something that might be construed as my professional peak rather early in my life, I decided to end it all and start over in Africa. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it...
A bit cryptic perhaps, but I will explain if asked.
No compromises regarding quality!
I’m really good at
... most things I try my hand at?
Too full of myself? In that case: being an open book that one never finishes reading...
Again a bit pretentious, but what can one expect from a sentence/section that starts with "I'm really good at..."?
Would be far more interesting to ask me what I'm bad at.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The list would be overlong (bookcases line my walls and not just for aesthetic value: Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Charles Stross, Tolkien, Robin Hobb, Douglas Adams, Robert Heinlein and lots and lots more) and I never say 'no' to an interesting story told in (movie)theaters or on TV.
If you want to see the list: ask me for my Goodreads account.

Food: Anything goes, but when it comes to meat preferably something that has had a nice life and a quick end to it. Started with entomophagy in Europe. Not half bad.

Note: very best series ever is Jim Henson's The Storyteller.
The six things I could never do without
Air to breathe
A house to live in
Food in my belly
... ooooh, you mean things I really like. Nothing specific really. "Home is where I hang my hat" and all that jazz.
Do a lot of stuff (ballroom dancing, cycling, field-hockey, hunting, sailing) but am not a fundamentalist about any of them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Anything that comes to mind... No really, everything!
On a typical Friday night I am
Either reading a book, working, watching a movie or out with friends.
Really, there's no such thing as a typical Friday night. I'd go mad if there was.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Nothing at the moment. Let me dwell on it...
You should message me if
you are an interesting person (and confident enough to admit it) and openminded to boot (luckily those two things usually go hand in hand).
It always helps if you love to read (and hope to see lots of interesting books when you enter a new house), have an active imagination and/or consider yourself a bit of a nerd with some sex-appeal ;-)
I recently found out this is called 'sapiosexuality'.
