My self-summary
Southern California native transplanted in DC. Laid back and always looking for a good conversation.

For fun I like to bike the Mount Vernon Trail (avoid Metro and bike into work), play some golf and overall just like being outdoors. During the summer, I love to camp and go hiking. If any of these activities match with yours, please shoot me a message! Even if you just want to be an "activity partner".

Definitely message me if you're a self-proclaimed wine and coffee snob. Or if you love microbews (I brew my own beer).

I love cheese! The stinkier the better!

I will eat any type of food at least once - challenge me.

I've been told I walk way too fast - I have been trying to fix this.

Quote random movie quotes in the most awkward and inappropriate settings (i.e. serious board meetings).

Can fall on your face and be the first one to laugh.

If you love movies, random nights out, and spontaneous road trips.

Let's grab a drink, go catch a concert, and explore what this great city has to offer.
What I’m doing with my life
Born and raised in San Diego, I decided to go to Boston for college. This prepped me for the East Coast and in 2010 I received a promotion which brought me to DC for a new job. I'm career driven, but don't ever let it stress me out. My workday strictly ends at 5PM (usually sooner).
I’m really good at
I'm really good at making people laugh (or so I think). I'm always the first person to try to quell a serious situation by cracking some stupid oddball joke. I like to keep things as light as possible and not take life too seriously.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm very approachable. I think this is what people notice about me initially and find it comforting that they will not be dealing with an egomaniac. I'm easy going, non-judgemental, and will always give every person a fair shot.

I've also been called a "Chatty Cathy" on numerous occasions - I've always been very sociable and outgoing. Extrovert is an understatement.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite book: Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. I'm very intrigued by the restaurant industry and glad he doesn't hold back on showing the "underbelly" of the beast. Not to mention, I'm a huge foodie.

Favorite movie is a tough choice. I almost went to film school and have been an avid fan from a very young age. I would have to say The Departed, French Connection, The Big Lebowski, No Country For Old Men and Pulp Fiction to name a few.

Favorite TV shows would be Arrested Development, Seinfeld, Simpsons, Modern Marvels, Entourage, Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire. Of course the Daily Show and Colbert Report has to be listed as well. Most recently, I'm obsessed with Homeland - one of the best series I've ever seen.

I'm huge music fan. Radiohead, Pixies, Death Cab For Cutie, Temper Trap, Rogue Wave, Pinback and Miike Snow. I can list an entire laundry list, but I won't bore you and/or attempt to look like a hipster.

I will eat any type of food at least once. I'm the least picky eater and love immersing myself in new cultures and cuisine.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order:

1. I've discovered recently in DC, I can't live without air conditioning.

2. Hate to say it, but my phone. I use the thing constantly on a daily basis and has gotten me out of some major jams.

3. Not to sound too sappy, but my family. I come from a huge family and I couldn't imagine not having them in my life. Always love going back to CA to visit.

4. Film. I could never imagine a world without cinema. I'm slightly obsessed.

5. Music and concerts. I try to make it to as many local shows as possible and have discovered that DC offers a very eclectic music scene.

6. The ocean. Nothing beats laying out on the sand on a nice, hot sunny Summer day. I was definitely spoiled growing up in San Diego.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future mainly. I'm always looking to the next stage in my life and wherever it leads me. If you asked me 6 years ago if I'd be living in DC, I would think you were crazy. I'm always setting my sights on improving my life, both personally and professionally. If that means moving or traveling, then bring it on! This is the age you should be doing it.
On a typical Friday night I am
I will either be on my sofa with popcorn and a nice microbrew taking in a double feature or I will be out and about on the town. It is never a constant with me. I like to lay low, but also get out and socialize quite often.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
It takes quite a bit for me to be embarassed - this is what happens when you grow up in a family of 7. However, I'm sure once you get to know me, something would come up that I wouldn't be willing to admit!
You should message me if
You should message me if you're either looking for a long term relationship or a friendship. I'm easy-going enough that I am up for anything. I'm not expecting online dating to find me the love of my life, but hey, stranger things have happened. Let's give this a shot.
