My self-summary
I'm an international from Singapore, and currently a masters student in Thunder Bay. Before that, I studied in Prince Edward Island and graduated with a Bachelors in English. I moved to Toronto for a while, and then I moved to Thunder Bay for my further studies. Now I'm back here, ready to make new friends and meet new personalities for fun times and lasting bonds!

As for my personality, I consider myself to be mostly a creative and passionate thinker, whatever the situation may be, I approach with gusto and flexibility of mind! At the same time, I must admit a hint of cynical realism. I've had a few past experiences that taught me how essential a little scepticism is in a harsh fast-paced world.
What I’m doing with my life
For now, I'm trying to get used to academic life again after a short break. It's a bit harder to focus my attention on longer texts, and my tastes for electronic diversions certainly hasn't helped in that regard. Still, it should be just like riding a bike; it'll come back to me once I get a good momentum going, I hope!

However, in my downtime, I either spend it playing with the computer or reading (also on the computer). Electronic entertainment has become my first choice for winding down after a long day, and I do a lot of research there on industries that interest me too. The latter is for a few plans/personal projects that I want to work on, but I won't go into detail as I don't plan on starting them until quite a few years later.
I’m really good at
The English Language. I admit, it hasn't helped me professionally but believe you me, I am quite adept at putting forth compelling and entertaining pieces of writing. I can be quite eloquent too if you're a fan of oratory finesse, though it's something I need to work up to and plan beforehand.

Ah! And if you're at odds with technological devices and the various programs associated with them. I can be most resourceful in devising a solution, by either drawing upon my own technical expertise or masterfully routing out a solution from modern tomes (i.e. using a search engine).
The first things people usually notice about me
The first thing (that I think) people notice about me is how introverted I am. I tend to be extremely passive when meeting new people, and favor listening and observing over contributing to a conversation, especially if I am in a group of strangers. However, I do try to strive against that and sometimes consciously force myself to interject every now and again should I see an opportunity to add to the ongoing discussion.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have a favourite author: Terry Pratchett. I'm a fan of how he interweaves humour into serious situations in a fantasy world of his own creation. I'm also quite fond of graphical novels, especially of the Usagi Yojimbo series by Stan Sakai.

Movie-wise, I am an absolute fan of Pixar's, including: Wall-E, Brave, the Incredibles, and the Toy Story movies. Studio Ghibli movies such as Spirited Away and The Cat Returns have earned my favor as well. As for favorite televison shows, I don't have that many that are current. There's Archer and Futurama, and the Colbert Show as well. But besides that, I just don't watch television that often. I would however watch reruns of the shows of my youth! Like Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack!

When it comes to both music and food, I always enjoy a wide variety. Rock, techno, or instrumental; Japanese, Greek, or Carribean. As long as it sounds/tastes good and isn't annoyingly cloying, then I will be satisfied.

Lastly, I want to bring up Avenue Q! I don't watch many plays, but that one is a delightful parody of the shows of my childhood and is a play I'll want to watch again!
Six things I could never do without
1) Internet access. I am ravenous when it comes to instant information and communication, and if I find myself unconnected to that great wide web, I become utterly restless and frustrated.

2) Writing Materials. If I am completely without a means to write down my thoughts anywhere, be it paper or laptop or even sand, I'd be deprived of my best method of expressing myself.

3) Reading Materials. When I have absolutely nothing to do, I read. It doesn't matter what it is; books, magazines, ingredient lists, or safety instructions will all be perused, sometimes repeatedly. Without any of these, I'd be bored out of my mind.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Stories. I might not write as much as I used to, but I still dream up stories and tales in my head, where adventures are had and slapstick is performed, where villains are defied and struggles are overcome.

At other times, I'm going over ideas for projects in my head. I have a few personal projects that my current education in programming would help me fulfil in the far future. I can't do much at the moment, so in the meantime I just brainstorm and lay down the groundwork for what I'll eventually begin.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am a severe procrastinator for one. I am very easily distracted, and that prevents me from accomplishing larger and more demanding tasks and personal projects. It's a fault I am keenly conscious of and constantly strive against
