My self-summary
I'm the coolest punk rock animator you will ever meet. I am a recent transplant from Chicago to North Hollywood, or "Noho", as the locals call it.

Ok, let's go more in-depth. I am pretty easy going, unless we are going someplace hard, like math class. I don't like math. I like history and art. Art History, though, not at all. Naw, I'm kidding. It's awesome.

I'm not really a bar guy. More of a coffee shop guy. I like to go on bike rides and hikes. I try to work out pretty regularly, mostly by riding my bike to and from work everyday, but I also go to kickboxing classes once or twice a week.

I am in a long term non-monogamous relationship. After many years, we decided that monogamy was cool and all, but that we also want to be able to pursue new friendships / relationships outside of our own.

Also, I have a cat that plays fetch.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently animating at a studio in-house at a big studio that starts with a C and ends with -artoon Network. I also co-own an animation company that specializes in web animation. Our biggest success was that "Do You Want To Build A Meth Lab" Breaking Bad / Frozen crossover parody.
I’m really good at
Talking and listening. I can't always offer the right advice, but I like to think that I'm a good person for people to bounce ideas, frustrations, and hopes off of. I believe that talking things out, even if it's just rambling and screaming, always helps with whatever ails ya.

I'm also good at spouting useless info about bands or genres of music. Want to discuss the differences between stoner metal and doom metal? Let's go!
The first things people usually notice about me
My clashing socks and shoes. Stripes and totally different stripes usually don't go together. That or the fact that I'm always wearing a jacket or sweater because I am always cold.

I mean, uh, my winning smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Animal Farm is my favorite book. I also really loved Watership Down. Apparently I like books about talking animals. That said, I generally read zines or non-fiction. I love Studs Terkel and Jonathan Kozol. I also read books relating to my career, storyboard books, animation history books, etc.

For movies, I love Dazed and Confused and Napoleon Dynamite... But I also like serious stuff like Serpico. I also really liked The Village.
I'd say horror is probably my favorite genre. I like movies that scare me, not necessarily gore-fests.

I love animation and cartoons, obviously... But more so TV shows than animated films. My favorite show is King of the Hill.

I love punk rock. Love it. But I also enjoy metal, dub, hip hop, or electronica. Currently, I find myself listening to:

- Run The Jewels
- Tiger Army
- This weird 70s prog band called Gryphon

I love food! I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I try to not eat meat at every meal.
The six things I could never do without
1. Drawing / Animation
2. Music
3. My bike
4. Books
5. My cats
6. Critical thought. Is that pretentious? Sorry.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life. Decisions, comings and goings, people. There's a lot out there, and it's fully customizable!

I also think a lot about my career. Just what kinda things I'd like to work on. Steps to take to get there. Stuff like that.

A friend once said to me, after watching a movie, "I didn't understand (so-and-so character's) motivations for her actions." This totally clicked with me, in terms of what makes good character writing. So, as silly as it sounds, I spend a lot of time thinking about shows and movies and the characters. I think about if the actions of the characters make sense based on motivations. And if they don't, I find that I become less interested in said show or movie.

I also worry about whether or not I use commas in the right places.
On a typical Friday night I am
At a punk rock show, or home watching Netflix or Hulu.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sometimes get really excited rocking out so I'll air guitar... And watch myself do so in the mirror. And I'm like, damn, I would look awesome with a not-pretend guitar.
You should message me if
We have things in common.

You want to hang out and talk about punk rock or film / animation at a coffee shop.

Or if you just want to say hello.
