My self-summary
I think of myself of a modern renaissance man, born and bred in Oregon. I like to round myself out as best I can, and try to be a sponge for any knowledge and wisdom this crazy life throws my way. I previously worked as a graphic artist, you've probably seen my designs if you have ever been to a Timbers game. I am a voracious reader. I enjoy sports and love to play and watch them. I play on an outdoor soccer team year round. A big fan of the Timbers, Blazers, and Oregon State. I was in the Air Force, no I wasn't a pilot but I drew pretty pictures as a graphic artist. I have been to 47 of the 50 states (need to finish off the Northeast and Hawaii). I was a nerdy eagle scout in high school, but it instilled a love of the outdoors. Nothing beats the escape and clarity of being in the in the wilderness. I love hanging out watching movies, playing board games, taking the dog for a walk, sharing a pint with friends, and cooking. I am ready to find someone who has the time and desire to share my interests with. I can't wait to find a partner to spoil, and someone to explore this world with.

For you psych majors: INTJ
For you nerds: Browncoat for life.
For you comedy fans: There is always money in the banana stand
For you sports fans: I am a 3rd string point guard and a starting left back.
What I’m doing with my life
I made a big career change and am now a conductor for Amtrak. All aboard! I get to travel a lot more, which I am excited for, plus chicks dig guys in uniform, right? I enjoy hiking and backpacking. Life is nothing without a little intellectual stimulation, I never want to stop learning in life. Even useless trivia, which I'm full of (I'd be great for your trivia team). I am both a supporter and a player of the beautiful game of soccer. After any exertion, physical or mental, there is nothing better than a pint of good beer. Luckily Portland is Beervana and a good pint is never far away. I also like to home brew my own, and have gotten pretty good at it. I love to cook and BBQ. I've been told I was the best Yankee BBQ'er by a toothless man, when I was stationed in the south in the Air Force. And who doesn't take advice from toothless southerners? My new year's resolution was to go on more hikes and take more photos, here is where you can see some of my shots:
I’m really good at
Picking up new things quickly. Let me play around with any gadget, skill, or game and I'll be mastering it in no time. I like to think I wont be the grandpa that can't work the VCR when I am old and slow.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told I look pretty good in jeans bending over to pick things up. I just can't get into the skinny jean fad to show it off.

Six things I could never do without
The Outdoors - Nothing reminds us how good life can be like the view from the top of a mountain.

Beer - The hoppier the better.

Soccer - Play it or watch it, love the beautiful game.

Good Food - BBQ, Thai, Mexican, Pizza, preferably anything homemade.

Books - Never stop learning and expanding your mind.

Blank sheets of paper - Have to create, leave a mark on the world.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How awesome opening a brewery would be, and what a terrible business idea in this city it would be.

Which corner of this incredible state I want to explore next.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends, or planning the weekend's adventure.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I have an odd birthmark/bump on top of my head that when I have a bald head may or may not make my head look like a part of the female anatomy. Which was kindly observed and pointed out publicly by my drill sergeant when I was in basic training for the Air Force. And no I wont tell you the nicknames it earned me.
You should message me if
You should message me if you're Rose City 'Til You Die (who wants to celebrate our cup victory?!?), you need a hiking partner, need someone to cook you a nice dinner, you want someone to split that sampler tray at a new brewery, you need someone to run with (I'll keep up as long as I can), you want someone to discuss the finer points of Calvin & Hobbes, need a sub for your game (basketball, soccer, ultimate), or just need someone chill to hang out with.

If you are looking for a partner for exploring I'd love to carry the compass or shoulder some of your load. If you're looking for something long term. Discovery is best shared with others.

You may get an on the spot marriage proposal if you can name the reference in my username.
