In brief, I'm a "young professional" by day, "mellow stoner" by night, looking for a special lady and partner in crime/adventure.
I just put on a pot of coffee, would you like a cup? Star Trek mug or Bob Marley mug, your choice? I have Splenda and French Vanilla creamer in spades.
Also trying to be a responsible home owner and pillar of my cool neighborhood a few miles from downtown Decatur. Mowing the lawn, grilling out burgers and brauts, hanging with my neighbors, ya know...suburban stuff.
Been with the same IT-related company for 10 years, where I currently specialize in Communications/Training. Not particularly exciting, but I get to interact with a diverse range of interesting people, all of whom have to listen to my dumb jokes and pretend they're funny, so that's pretty effin sweet.
Some info that may be important to you, about me:
- I don't drink, but don't mind being around drinking or dating someone who does, it's all good. But, I will say that if you get "sloppy drunk" more than like, every-other-month, I don't think I'd be able to deal.
- Having said that, I do enjoy smoking the doobie. It's like my main vice these days, not counting greasy foods or lethargy. So, if you ain't "420 friendly" (in the parlance of our times) we would not be a good match. Don't be such a flippin' square! Jk...but not really.
I also have done a lot of writing in my time, both in professional settings and creative writing. I'm often tinkering around with poetry, novels, screenplays, etc. that I'm working on just for fun. I've done National Novel Writing Month a few times. I keep telling myself that one day I'll make a big push to do something (like publish) one of these projects, but I don't think I've found the right one yet. Or maybe I'm just waiting for my muse? (Cue 80s song "Send Me An Angel" by Real Life)...
I fear the more accurate answer may be "the haphazard manner in which my shirt is tucked in."
Love the author Philip K. Dick, though I read only pretty intermittently as of late. Also love the novel The Naked and the Dead by Norman Mailer.
For movies I'm a big fan of Horror, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and goofball/stoner comedies. Top 5 Fave Movies off the top of my head are: 1) Goonies, 2) The Big Lebowski, 3) The Exorcist, 4) Alien, 5) Grandma's Boy
I'm a huge Trekkie. Current shows I'm into include Dr. Who (COMING BACK SOON!), American Horror Story, Game of Thrones, True Detective, Supernatural, Grimm...yeah my DVR sees some action.
Musically I prefer classic rock or most of what's on the "alternative" stations. I also like some electronic/trance artists that friends have introduced me to over the years. My faves ever are David Bowie and Tom Petty.
With food, I can deal with mostly anything except seafood/sushi. I particularly enjoy barbecue or a good steak.
I will instead answer this question: "If you could choose a super power, what would it be?"
I've thought about this a lot. If I were to use the power primarily for crime fighting, I'd pick telepathy/mind control. If I could get into a bad guy's head Professor X style, I'd just make them turn themselves in. Minimal effort and collateral damage. However, if it were only for personal use, definitely flying/teleportation. Mainly so I could revisit some of my favorite travel destinations and see lots of new ones.
And sometimes stilly stuff. Like Why is my dog obsessed with hoarding all my shoes? Or Why does every asshole that rides a bike in Decatur wear spandex as if they're a real bicycle racer person? I don't want to see the intricate contours of your butt cheeks. NO ONE DOES.....
I also enjoy going to new restaurants and have been seeing a lot if films in the theater this summer (mostly comic book movies and sci-fi stuff...for example, Captain America 2 kicked ass). For dates I enjoy sharing artsy experiences like art galleries, seeing a play or art house film, or just casual coffee and conversation.
I'm pretty low key in general, but like to do outdoorsy stuff like disc golf and day hikes.
