My self-summary
I'm a pretty adventurous person and like to try new things and see new places, but I also like a good bit of structure and routine when it comes to day-to-day things.

I'm a relatively low-key person. I generally prefer dive bars to clubs, and small gatherings of friends to crazy parties. I'm equally happy going out with friends on the weekend, or staying in to read, watch a movie, or partake in whatever hobby I'm currently enthralled by.

I'm a very creative person, and enjoy the company of other artsy/creative people (which is not to say I don't appreciate other types of people). I am a painter, and show my art at various cafes/restaurants around town. Whether or not the outcome is "good" (totally subjective), I enjoy the process of painting. But of course, it is most enjoyable when the end result is a kick ass piece of art.
What I’m doing with my life
For money, I work in project management at a CRO.

For fun, I like to paint and take art classes. In the past couple of years I have taken classes in wood carving, graphic design, welding and pottery. My current medium is stained glass, which I am attempting to sell on Etsy. I enjoy the performing arts and like going to plays, dance concerts and live music.
I’m really good at
numbers, compooters, making healthy food taste rull good-like, procrastinating for as long as possible and still creating quality work, organizing things, following directions, going to great lengths to save a bug who has found itself in a troubling situation
The first things people usually notice about me
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For books, movies and shows I like sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, true crime and documentaries. Haruki Murakami is one of my favorite authors. Recent good reads: Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki, In Cold Blood, Girl on the Train. Current reads: The Martian Chronicles and Existentialism is a Humanism. Next up: Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, and Nausea. I usually have an art book or two in the mix as well.

I like falling asleep to podcasts, especially Radiolab and Invisibilia.

Ice cream, Jelly Belly beans

arctic monkeys, animal collective, austra, blonde redhead, broken bells, cold war kids, delta spirit, deer tick, dr. dog, fever ray, gnarls barkley, little dragon, lower dens, maps & atlases, middle brother, minus the bear, modest mouse, phantogram, radiohead, rhcp, rumspringa, the avett brothers, the black keys, the doors, the white stripes, twin sister, yeasayer
Six things I could never do without
animals, creative outlets, a cold beer on a hot day... or a cold day, a well-equipped kitchen, alone time, my bed/body pillow
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My current and future art projects. Ways to make money from my art. What to cook next. My future dog, he's going to be the best. Life. Death.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home listening to Adele and crying into my art. Okay that only happened one time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I frequently miss the trash can that is two feet from my desk.

I have seen all seasons of the Bachelor and Bachelorette.

The apostrophe key on my computer has been broken for over a year, so I have to find apostrophes and quotation marks to copy/paste.

I know literally nothing about sports, but will watch them with you if you want.

Sometimes animal videos make me cry.

...I'm pretty open about my flaws.
You should message me if
you are kind, empathetic, intelligent, silly, think about people/things/the world beyond yourself and your own experiences, and are ready for something more than casual
