I find great joy in just experiencing what life has to offer me, taking all its challenges head-on, and following its course wherever it takes me. The only place I want to be right now is exactly where I am, because if I wanted to live my life some other way, I would. Except New York. Maybe I want to live in New York.
I have a lot of strong ideals I adhere to, as well, and the application of those ideals leads me to veganism, Christianity and environmentalism, mainly.
Also! I made a crazy-awesome zombie choose-your-own-adventure quiz that you can entertain yourself with! It was broken for a long time, but now it is back and it is fixed! Enjoy! (It might be a little graphic, because, well, it's about zombies eating people and whatnot. But seriously, though, its fabulousness will blow your mind, so you should check it out.)
And now, like every other self-respecting purveyor of the World-Wide Web, I have a blog! Its nerdiness is unparalleled. In fact, I dare you to find a more nerdy blog.
I am affable, unprecedented, and 100% awesome
Other things I am good at: cooking vegetable curry, sleeping too late, aggressive driving in my tiny car, not getting tickets, eating peanut butter, scratching the heads of animals, climbing rocks, overcoming challenges, finding new and different uses for tofu, keeping my balance on a motorcycle, forgetting to charge my electronics, not repeating myself, annoying my friends with overly-complicated European board games, dancing in a spirited - though not necessarily good - manner, refraining from putting Zs on the end of plural words, fabricating graphene field-effect transistors, baking silly things into cookies (e.g. avocados), avoiding Kings of Leon on the radio.
I guess I've had a fair number of people assume (incorrectly) that I'm Jewish. Does that count?
Movies: Three movies I watch over and over are My Neighbor Totoro (good for whenever you're feeling down), Predator (for when the manly man inside me wants to watch stuff blow up) and Life of Brian (because sometimes people just need to laugh). Other great stuff: Amelie, Brazil or anything else directed by Terry Gilliam (oh, man, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus was so good!), Hero (the good one, not the Dustin Hoffman one), Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind or anything else directed by Hayao Miyazaki, High and Low or anything else by Akira Kurosawa, All About Lily Chou-Chou, Lord of the Rings, The Big Lebowski, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Magnolia and all of P.T. Anderson's stuff, Rushmore and all of that other Anderson's stuff, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and a lot of other Humphrey Bogart flics (the end of the Maltese Falcon has to be one of my favorite movie scenes ever), Real Genius (hey, I take my physics movies where I can get them), Aliens and other James Cameron films (except, umm, Titanic...yeah), Sunshine and other Danny Boyle movies, the Dark Knight and other Christopher Nolan (Inception!!!) ... I could go on and on here. I'm a lover of the cinema.
Television: Three shows I will watch at any opportunity are Six Feet Under, The Tick and This American Life (I also love the radio show, of course). Additionally, I am a big fan of Game of Thrones, The Wire, Deadwood, Arrested Development, Freaks and Geeks, Community, Parks and Recreation, Psych, Good Eats, Top Chef, Cowboy Bebop, Burn Notice, Breaking Bad, Lost, Survivor, The Amazing Race, In Treatment, Flight of the Conchords ... yeah, maybe I spend a little too much time in front of the television.
Music: Three albums that I could leave in my car's CD player for months on end (man, this one is hard) are The National (High Violet), Muse (Absolution) and The Mars Volta (De-Loused in the Comatorium). Other great music originates from Bjork, Cornelius, M. Ward, Radiohead, Okkervil River, Ravens and Chimes, The Weepies, Snow Patrol, The Postal Service, They Might Be Giants, The Killers, Pearl Jam, The Flaming Lips, Aimee Mann, Tortoise, Interpol, Mumford & Sons, Passion Pit, Of Monsters and Men, Florence + The Machine, The Black Keys.
Foods: I love hummus more than any man should love a food. Other than that, Indian, Mediterranean, Thai, pretty much anything that can be made without meat or dairy.
While we are at it, I'm sure I could spend a while listing all my favorite board and video games, but you can just message me if you're into that.
Maybe it sounds kinda cheesy, but I'm really not all that into material things, so this is about all I could think of.
Yes, that *was* three things, because I watch TV and play games at the same time. I am also good with the multi-tasking.
