My self-summary
I am a social dragonfly *a little spicier than its cousin ;P.

In my opinion, laughter is always the best recipe, music mends a broken spirit, and curiosity preserves the youth within.
It is my perception that intelligent, yet humorous conversation accompanied with passionate, physical chemistry is imperative among companions. In the past, I've been committed to numerous types of individuals and reminisce of each journey as a learning experience, illustrating the kinds of personality combinations that do and do not coincide well with mine. Surely, I do not claim to be perfect and neither do I seek perfection; in contrast, I actually believe that cherishing another for that which makes them human is the beauty of honestly loving another, without conditions. I merely hope for the opportunity of falling in love with a person that compliments my strengths and weaknesses. Casually, I am in pursuit of one who exudes such attributes; an optimist, one who thrives on the abstract, appreciates a challenge, and seeks to, over time, evolve in being a closer version of the person they envision to be. I want one who desires a partner of equal stature, is generally interested in what I am passionate about (which primarily is music) just as, naturally, I am with one whom I care for. To be honest, I have no preconceived expectations - in regards to meeting my future soul-mate online, I'm just simply interested in meeting new people, developing new connections with those of which I have passions in common with - and if the end result is just merely friendship, my view is - the more, the merrier! If I happen to meet the perfect person for me via OKCupid, well, bring it on! ;)
Although, there is one thing I am in clear search of – finding other musicians to work with; I am longing to make music with other open, creative, and talented musicians.
I guess, in all, I consider myself to be a beautiful, confident, and unique woman who is positive, open-minded, spontaneous, adventurous, and up for just about anything - as long as it doesn't include sacrificing bunnies!

***Oh, and yes, I know my profile is quite lengthy, lol... and not due to self-absorbtion or concete (I promise I am not as obsessed with myself, as I may appear =OP); the length is more due to the feat it is to accurately portray oneself on an "internet dating profile", yet how does one accurately sum themselves up into words?? It's more realistic to admitt that it's pretty much impossible, but I've been chippin' away at this profile for well over a year now, so, eh, it is what it is... ;o)***

I am abstruse*, euphonious*, and sanguine*

*I wanted my three describing adjectives to sum up my perception of my true self, perfectly... Attempting to NOT seem like a pompous ass, (lol) here are the definitions of the three terms I found to sum me up (I'm a bit of a word nerd):
*abstruse - difficult to comprehend.
*euphonious - pleasing to the ear.
*sanguine - confident, optimistic.

***One more thing (for now, lol)… In case you were curious, yes, my screen name does have meaning/a purpose…
It's a song lyric from Gabriel Faure's "O Quand Je Dors" - a French Art Song that I adored singing in college. :)
Charmaitonimage ---> "charmait ton image" (French) translating to (more or less) "charmed by your image"...
Cleverly, this lyric basically sums up my personal definition of OKC (in three words or less).
So, in my humble opinion, my screen name is ridiculously cool (in the dorkiest sense), yee haw! lol...
What I’m doing with my life
I am a recent college graduate (Boston University & University of Central Florida), who is trying to somehow build a pathway to success. Throughout my college experience, I was focused towards a career in music and/or teaching (which are both areas that I'm highly passionate about), as well as (to be a bit more practical) embraced a minor in marketing. So, eight years later (and after earning over 180 credits, with a GPA of 3.7) I finally graduated college with a double major (in vocal performance and elementary education) and a minor (again, in marketing). I guess, it's fairly obvious that I definitely enjoyed college (and eventually, would love to go back to get my masters).
To be blatantly honest, I've finally realized how very UN-interested I am in living an ordinary life - stuck in a career that I'm not passionate about (i.e; with a nine to five, stuck at my very own cubicle all day). Although, I was in that situation for a little while (after graduating), I'm finally in a quite "surreal" place in my life! I've been given the opportunity to earn a living via doing what I love. I'm probably one of the rare few to get this lucky and although, I'm not sure how long this will last nor if I'll ever make tons of money, but I'm not going to worry about what I cannot control - the past, or the future. It took tons of hard work and quite a bit of rejection, but (AT LAST) I am able to support myself through music. I am the lead singer of a rock band, that is steadily giging (we're down town quite a bit) and I'm the lead singer of a "motown/funk/soul/R&B" house band; It's at a brand new club and I'm guaranteed at least 3/4 nights a week of work. I'm happiest when I'm embracing music or inspiring young, creative minds. I need to pursue what drives my heart, challenges my mind, and relates to the human experience.

"Oh Darling" (Beatles)

Unfortunately, they're not originals ~ or even accompanied with instruments :( ~, but any opportunity I get to sing in public, is a great one, in my opinion.

I have confidence in addressing myself as a musician, not simply a vocalist. I studied opera for approximately ten years, throughout high school and college; As a music major for four years (at three different universities), I attended Boston University on a vocal scholarship and was quite fortunate to see the world via music; one of the few priveledges of studying music at the collegiate level, was the opportunity of studying music abroad. I had the life-altering opportunities of studying classical music in Germany, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. I've pretty much completed most of my course work required for a BA in Music Performance (Voice) including, but not limited to: all of the college level music theory, sight singing, and piano courses, as well as Guitar I & II. Lately, I've been fearful of missing any opportunities of working with inspirational musicians, as they assume that I only desire to sing covers - which isn't the case.

I am always in search of putting the perfect band together - acquiring some passionate, talented, serious musicians (of varying genres: blues, rock, jazz, soul, funk, electronic, -- the more diverse, the better) that want to create, gig, and possibly turn into something pretty magical ;). Right now, I am doing quite a few projects: with a handful of amazing musicians, but I'm always searching for the perfect mix of musicians to create a sound that is unique, yet catchy. I'm ready to start the career that I was born to do.

If you don't receive a response, please accept my apologies... I am usually online for just brief moments cause I'm rather busy at the moment. So with that said, I want to make sure that my intentions are clearly stated: I have no alterior motives by being on this site. My intentions are to be open and nonjudgemental. There are many amazing people that have contacted me and (with no aim of animosity, neglect, or arrogance) I haven't contacted back.... If you're one of these individuals (especially - if I contacted you back), please contact me again, if you still would like to get to know each other better.
AND, by the way, I'm not into "chatting" - don't take it personally, I just can't seem to disassociate chatting and Chris Hansen from 20/20...
So, please just message me...
I’m really good at
Singing and the attempt at finding the best in anyone that I happen to cross paths with.
The first things people usually notice about me
My ability to stand out in a crowd.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm going to get right down to business with this section (which I just updated-well, the music portion was-April 2013) & start with my passion, music...
My ALL-TIME Favorite Band/Artist is:
Radiohead-PERIOD... They've been my Favorite for over a decade & it's a very slim chance that-it'll ever change. *If you're also a huge fan of their music, my favorite album(s), a ridiculously hard decision & almost a tie, is currently, "Hail to the Thief", but "In Rainbows" can take over that spot, depending on my mood, LOL! It's probably just easier to claim my least favorite album (only album I'm not very fond of & it's probably VERY obvious to any of their other "die-hard" fans), "Pablo Honey". Actually, "The King of Limbs" grew on me (which is their most recent album... *of course-aside from Thom Yorke's recent side-project alongside RHCP's bassist-Flea, in Atoms for Peace! AFP's album, 'AMOK', just dropped-at the end of Feb, 2013-& (imo) it's a sick album, however I'm an INCREDIBLY biased source. ;-)
Main Musical OBSESSION/Summation of Musical Taste:
European Electronic, Rock, Blues, Folk, Funk, yet Acoustic Fusion Pop -
Is that a genre? ha.

Right now, some of the artists that I am obsessively listening to:

I just discovered 2 unbelievable bands & I'm truly beside myself that I don't see much buzz about 'em & that their music isn't highly praised & critically acclaimed (in @least the indie scene, aka-Pitchfork), tbh!
*Punch Brothers*

I'm also frequently listening to:
Atoms For Peace-"AMOK"
Fiona Apple-"The Idler the Wheel"
Bat for Lashes-"The Haunted Man"
Mumford & Sons-"Babel"
Passion Pit-"Gossamer"
Tame Impala-"Lonerism"
Miguel-"Kaleidoscope Dream"
How To Dress Well-"Total Loss"
The Black Keys-"El Camino"
The Strokes-*Recently, been re-visiting all of their studio albums (4), w/ the addition of "Comedown Machine" (to make 5, now)
& Bon Iver's Self-Titled, still! =oP

Music is my WORLD. I can appreciate all genres of music and have favorite albums in almost all genres and decades. Only vice: Cheesy Country (which includes most of the Country that I've heard, sorry Country Fans), but that's not to get confused with Bluegrass which I very-much respect AND enjoy!

I LOVE Airplane pamphlets!!! . . . =OP Lol, honestly, I've been reading a lot of "non-fiction" books, lately. Some of my recent favorites include, "The Secret", and the newest book by Rhonda Byrne, "The Power". Oh, and not to worry, although I appreciated the message of those books, I am not one of "those" who are obsessed with the theory and take it 100% literally, nor do I spend most of my time creating vision boards, lol, actually I haven't even made one, yet. I don't see myself making one any time soon, either. To be honest, though, I do agree with trying to stay optimistic, and I also believe that if you "look" for problems, you'll surely find them.
I'm about to read a book that's been highly recommended to me called, "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. So, any thoughts? I'd love to hear 'em!
Now, some of my all-time favorite books are so rare, that probably many of you have NEVER heard of them. They're known as, "The Harry Potter series". Ever heard of 'em? ha. Seriously though, they're great books and one of my favorite classics: Shell Silverstein's, "Where the Sidewalk Ends".
As a recommendation, I read "The Last Lecture." It was a fairly intense, bittersweet, yet beautiful (true) story. I truly love experiencing books of which I enjoy, otherwise ADHD kicks in and I'll have to read the same paragraph FIVE times, haha. I hate having to do that...

I love too many movies to list especially horror flicks, but some of my favorite movie's are The Descent, Event Horizon, Gia, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Peaceful Warrior, Fight Club, Pick of Destiny, Across the Universe, Juno, Garden State, Napoleon Dynamite, Breakfast Club, Moulin Rouge, O Brother Where Art Thou, and Goonies, pretty eclectic choices when listed together, eh?

TV Series: Honestly, I'm not real big on T.V. Probably, because I no longer have a DVR box (once you have had DVR and lost DVR, it makes it real difficult to go back to the old way of watching T.V.), lol. If I had to give a couple of "honorable mentions", though. . . My current favorite is the TruBlood Series and I really enjoyed Flight of the Conchords. I can't believe it only ran for two seasons; that show was entirely (at least) four seasons too short!! I also love(d) the new show, "Glory Daze" on TBS (Tuesdays) @ 10 pm. It's probably b/c of bias reasons (someone that I was very close to in middle/high school is heavily invovlved with the show), but I'm sad to say, it was cancelled.
As I explained, I was a music major in I could probably write a novel on musical inspirations, but for a quick (or not-so-quick-LOL) idea . . .

I love MEAT!!!! No seriously! To me, a petite filet mignon slightly undercooked compared to your average medium-rare, from Del Frisco's is amazing foreplay in my eyes... I also enjoy a creative Sushi Roll from Fugi's, anything considered Italian or Mexican, "Southern Country-Style" - Home Cookin' from your quaint, little 'Mom & Pop' restaurant, and Birthday Cake Ice Cream from Bruster's (or Strawberry will do just fine). ;)
Six things I could never do without
Family, friends, music (duh!), laughter, love, and small "electronic" (or battery operated) devices, jk - well, I'm actually not kidding, ha, oh jeez! =OP
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How will I make this all worthwhile?
On a typical Friday night I am
As of just recently, I am working, but definitely don't think of it as work! I'm singing at a new local night club every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night with the house band.
In the past though, if not rehearsing with a band that I'm involved with or playing a show - I'm usually out and about: networking, socializing, singing, playing poker, discovering new bands(I love concerts, especially with unknown artists), or consumed by creativity - a.k.a. - making homemade jewelry/accessories with natural stones (real and unfaceted) and swarovski crystals. Not only do I love the beauty of natural stones, but I'm also intrigued by their possible spiritual, mental, and/or healing powers. A fun and positive little theory to play around with, similar to the way I view astrology.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have an insatiable sensual appetite! . . . PSYCHE! jk, I do... or do I? *I just used the word: psyche, hahaha, first "duh" and now "psyche". I apologize that currently my vocabulary has Tourette's Syndrome from the 1990's.

Seriously, my passion for music has evolved slowly over time...
originating from literature.
The selfish pleasure received when enjoying creative literature; poems, fables, short stories; undeniably led to my art, my craft, my world.
This enthusiasm for the creative, written art, inevitably lead to a lyrical, yet melodic passion that is desperately insatiable, regardless of appetite.
To the simple-minded, the comparison of a poem and a song illustrate numerous similarities defined by literary structure, yet the SOLE "soul" characteristic that separates the two forms of expression is rather verbally challenged, indescribable via adjectives.
Music, an unequal mixture of poetry, fables, & short stories, embodies a tangible, three-dimensional expression whereas the inequality of ingredients vary and the depth of tangibility waiver.
Reading profound literature can spark an imaginative emotion that is developed with cognition...
Listening to music can ignite an impulsive feeling without decisive thought. . . an eruption of senses felt throughout, without logic.

Just my opinion, though. ;o)
You should message me if
Have I intrigued you??? Are you overwhelmed with curiosity?? (Or just overwhelmed that my profile is a novel??) Haha...

Well, then send me a message...
