My self-summary
Polar bear! Now that I’ve broken the ice, it won’t be quite as awkward to make this profile. I polled 100 colleagues, friends, and family members, asking them to name something positive about me for me to be able to describe myself to other people. The top four answers are on the board. Ummm, I’m pleasant to be around?? Survey says…..”X”. Ummmm, I’m dryly humorous?? Survey says…..”XX”. Ummmm, I have a diet that is high in moral fiber?? Survey says…..”XXX” (really??, I couldn’t guess any of my positive attributes?). The top four answers were, “1. You’re tall??, 2. Who are you again?, 3. You must have played basketball, right?? You know, because you’re tall. 4. Why would you have ChestahCheetah as your screen name?”

Well that wasn’t very productive, so I guess I’m on my own for coming up with a profile. I grew up in a small Wisconsin town, where my dad is the mayor. It entitles me to say, “Do you know who I am??” if / when I get pulled over. I came to Boston six years ago to go to grad school at a nerdy engineering school in the Boston / Cambridge vicinity. Now that I've finally finished, I got somewhat of a dream job at a start-up company near said nerdy engineering school. Since then, I have attended countless Celtics and Red Sox games.

Over the past couple of years I've made many trips to New York City to see Broadway plays. Though likely looked down upon by the serious theater going crowd, I mostly only go to plays with actors or actresses whose movies I like. Seeing Jude Law, Alicia Silverstone, Christopher Walken, and Piper Perabo have been personal highlights.

Back in my younger days, aka 5 years ago, I was really into backpacking. I did weeklong trips in Alaska and Glacier National Park, which also included white water rafting, sea kayaking, and shooing mountain goats out of our campsite.
I’m really good at
bothering pigeons while waiting for my bus.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
This isn't private, but I wanted to put it in somewhere. I've been hit by a car in a clearly marked pedestrian crosswalk. When I got knocked over and rolled, I ended up against a sign that said, "Yield to pedestrians. Keep our streets safe. $250 fine."
