My self-summary

I'm a teacher, musician, and nerd. I've been living in Philly for quite awhile now and really love it. I'm into:

-Card/Board games
-Being a nerd
-Guitars (Gibsons forever!)
-How nice parks are
-The very ungainly ball of hair that the adoption center told me was a dog. I call him Bombur.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently working as a music teacher, independently in Philadelphia and through a school out in Ardmore. I love teaching, and it's so fun to when someone discovers what they can do on a piano. It's also hilarious how many weird things kids say on a daily basis. I have many a story to tell.

Working a couple days a week at a coffee shop as well. Trying to get out of it soon, but for now I can make pretty wonderful lattes. If you're into that.

I'm also trying to put some of my songs back on a stage with a couple of my friends. Mostly using piano, drums and few gnarly synthesizers. So far we're pretty good ;D
I’m really good at
Reading. I actually can sort of speed read if I really want to...but it's never as fun as taking my time.

Writing as well. Though I have trouble coming up with good plots. Maybe someday I'll figure out the whole story arc thing.

A friend also referred to me as their Obi Wan Kenobi. So I may have hit my peak...unless they're Anakin I guess.
The first things people usually notice about me
"Oh look, a person!"
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, 2001: A Space Oddysey, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Marriage Plot, The Virgin Suicides, The Phantom Tollbooth, Roverandom, The Graveyard Book, 1984. The Picture of Dorian Gray, Rendezvous With Rama, Stranger in a Strange Land.

*Clearly a trend of science fiction and fantasy happening here.

Movies: All time favorite is Lost In Translation. Runner up goes to 2001 A Space Odyssey. Honorable mentions include Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Moon, Interstellar, Inside Out, Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Inglourious Basterds, My Neighbor Totoro (and thus far every Miyazaki film I've com across) Alien, Aliens, Stranger Than Fiction, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and other movies that somehow make you blissfully happy and crushingly sad at the same time.

Shows: Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Parks & Rec, New Girl, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Bobs Burgers, Star Trek

Music: Lights is my all time favorite. She's my synth pop best friend. Also really love Chvrches, Halsey, Paul Simon, Good Old War, Death Cab, and all kinds of stuff.

Food: Recently went down the rabbit hole (har har har) of veganism...It's a lot of fun. Still figuring out my favorites. It's pretty amazing how many awesome vegan recipes there are. I just discovered Govinda's on Broad if you want to get there I'm in.
The six things I could never do without
My pup!
A presentable pair of shoes
My keys
I spend a lot of time thinking about
When and if I'll ever be able to take a cab to work without stressing out about the expense.

If I'll ever get speakers so that I can listen to my records.
On a typical Friday night I am
Teaching music until about 8 o clock. Sometimes having friends over after. Possibly going somewhere to read, or maybe drink. Occasionally movies? Or shows!
You should message me if
You like sci fi or games
You want to talk and possibly hang out!
