My self-summary
If you have seen the movie, The Kids Are All Right, I am somewhat the spitting image of the Mark Ruffalo character, however, I identify with the Annette Bening character given the circumstances of the movie plot and the fact that she is such an amazing actor.

Chris Ruffalo

I will put my foot in my mouth from time to time.

My celebrity doppelgänger is Sean Astin

Apparently, I'm a b-lister on okaycupid. I'm an a-lister at heart, but refuse to pay money for notoriety, especially on the internet. Just saying, I missed your episode of "Star Search" and need you to message me to see that you are interested.

Also, I'm currently thinking about grad school. Beginning to prepare for GRE and LSAT.

This profile is a rough draft. Revision is key. This profile will change hopefully as I do.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a scholar, a gentleman, and an all around bad ass. I have a career (really a job), but it doesn't define me.
I’m really good at
Spinning a yarn, chess, drinking coffee, and hiking.
The first things people usually notice about me
My gait, shy gregariousness, and I have no game.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is what I'm currently reading, watching, listening to, and thinking about (updated 3/18):

Books: "Waking Up" by Sam Harris, Going through some of the better selections of George Orwell, and waiting on the new Neil DeGrasse Tyson book to drop.

Newspapers: trying to keep the broadsheet alive. NYT, WSJ, WP.

Movie: Just rewatched the Paris Woody Allan movie about the lost generation and paired it with a rereading of "Ye Ol' Man and the Sea" by Hemingway.

Albums: "Harvest" by Neil Young and a studio singles album by the Buzzcocks.
Singles: Listening to a bunch of Robyn, Gaga, the Knife, and Sia at the moment.

Podcasts: "Harmontown", "Radiolab", and "This American Life.". Also, Dan Carlin's "Common Sense" and "Hardcore History".

Shows: Finished "West World", "Black Mirror", and "Horace & Pete" recently.

HBO: Rewatching "Rome". It is a joint HBO/ BBC series that was the networks first foray into high production value original programming.

Thinking and writing about: ACA repeal, the legislative process, and the robustness of Washington's administrative bureaucracy.

I love all food. I mainly cook Italian and French, but want to get into Indian and Middle-eastern cuisine.

If you want to discuss any of the above, I can talk about each for hours.
Six things I could never do without
In no particular order:

Julia Child
Lap cats
Burritos the size of your head
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I plan to be thinking about obsession.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out on the town or at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I see the world in a glass quarter full type of way. Philosophically I'm trying to be a material realist, but I'm more of a pragmatist.
You should message me if
You see me in a coffee shop and I don't look up. Strike that. Just come over and say hey. I'm not as busy as I look.

Or if their (sic) are any glaring typos in this profile. I need an editor and it could be you!
