My self-summary
Writer/technologist/confidant. 100% of your daily allowance of left and right brain. Superpower: being able to creatively simplify the complex.
What I’m doing with my life
Senior analyst at Forrester. When not focused on tech, authoring a novel about love. Occasionally a fitness maven and always a dog fan.
I’m really good at
Listening, laughing and trying to help those around me. Deadpan sense of humor.
The first things people usually notice about me
Are you kidding? I look like George Clooney!... Probably that I come off very focused/serious on first.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Mass market fiction. Anything by Michael Crichton.
Shows: Breaking Bad, Lost, MythBusters.
Music: Radiohead.
Food: When I'm eating clean, anything with lots of chicken/salmon. When I'm not, a Belgian waffle with ice cream on top.
The six things I could never do without
Pen and paper
Jeans and t-shirt
Internet; being able to turn off the Internet
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"Big picture" stuff: the effects of automation (good and bad), why we're here and religion/spirituality (even though I'm not religious myself). Then I recall the Pale Blue Dot (Google it) and it puts me into perspective.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually relaxing at home, but I love to go out to restaurants/movies/etc. I'm pretty much up for anything. I would like to try everything in life at least once.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was on a children's television game show for one episode. It was called Square One (kind of the math version of Sesame Street) and I won a sneaker-shaped gym bag and a "holographic calculator". It was the 80s -- I'm not making this up.
You should message me if
You think a lot and you're cool with a guy that thinks a lot. You can delve deep but rise to the surface with balance and simplicity. You encourage athleticism in me and vice versa. You love staring at the stars, talking about nothing and wanting to see everything.
