My self-summary
Friends, family, and faith got me where I am, and that's a good place in life! I'm not perfect, but who is? I love a good story, whether it's in a song, a book, or a movie but, in most cases I prefer the written word. I would never be able to live without art, and always have music playing in the background... I work for a not-for-profit organization helping the homeless and those who struggle with mental illness. I love my two Bengal cats, and am falling in love with my faith in a new way every day. There's an entire multi-volume autobiography I could write here... better explored through conversation, yeah? ;)
What I’m doing with my life
I am enjoying life, learning to get back to basics, and am looking forward to what the 'morrow may bring. I don't make a TON of money, but I LOVE what I do because I can see the fruits of my labor in the lives of the people we reach. I fit other things in from time to time, like art, writing, and more...

Recently, I've been putting together notes for a few books that I would like to start writing. One book is fiction, the other deals with Peer Recovery Support and Mental Health. I've also started sorting through all the poetry I've written over the years to see if I can't get a volume of my writing published... Dreams never become reality unless acted upon! Let's do this!
I’m really good at
Being sarcastic, seeing artistic value in everyday things, guessing the ending of stories before the answers are revealed, and finding the simple things to enjoy while getting the most out of the time I have in the day... I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic and believe chivalry is not dead. Every man should strive to treat their relationships "Like a Sir." I try to find the funny, fantastic, and fire in everything I encounter... no event in life should go to waste!
The first things people usually notice about me
I do not really conform to the norm and I do my own thing... The goatee, piercings, and ink usually come up in conversation as well. Typical "judging a book by its cover" mentality... then again, some folks dig 'em, so there's that. =P
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Bible, any books about fringe topics and how they relate to my faith, I am still working on completing my Star Wars library (yes, I am a bit of a geek)... I used to own several thousand books, but have sold much of that library due to space and financial need a few years ago. Neil Gaiman, Piers Anthony, Lloyd Alexander, Fred Saberhagen, Michael Moorcock, Timothy Zahn, Poe, Dante, Shakespeare, Tosca Lee, Eric Nylund, Drew Karpyshyn, Ted Dekker, Wendy Alec... honestly, this list could hit the maximum word-count for this section.

Movies I am looking forward to (because let's be honest, there are too many movies to list that have already come out that I would pick as "favorites"): Interstellar, Hunger Games, The Theory of Everything, The Hobbit, The Avengers (and any upcoming Marvel movie really), Mad Max, Poltergeist, The Maze Runner, Star Wars, Paranormal Activity, and a slew of others...

Music currently in rotation on my playlist: Rancid, War of Ages, Killswitch Engage, Lindsey Stirling, Ellie Goulding, and the K-Pax soundtrack. I listen to pretty-much anything, within reason. I can't remember the last time I had rap, R&B, or old country playing through my headphones...

Television shows I have recently become excited about: The Flash, Ghost Adventures, The Walking Dead, Comic Book Men, Marvel: Agents of Shield, Supernatural, Gotham, and a handful of other odds and ends...

Food... food? Recent food: Arby's, Siegi's (German is in my blood... so I try to keep it in my stomach as frequently as the wallet allows :P ), Texas Roadhouse (steak!), Buffalo Wild Wings (wings+UFC=happy me), Osaka Steak House (both the sushi and the hibachi), and Los Cabos (no better place for a Margarita!)

On the topic of UFC - I am not a "sports guy", but if there's UFC or the occasional paintball available, I'll indulge in some 'sportesque' television... ;)
Six things I could never do without
Faith, Family, Art in its' many forms, Liberty, Opportunity, and Individual Expression
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Honestly, my mind wanders and I could spend time in thought about anything at any given time. After having a random thought about something, I could have a conversation or debate about it, and then go sit down and write a paper about it... I love intellectual conversation and debate (as long as it stays friendly... conflict is just obnoxious). I also spend a lot of time daydreaming about things I wish I could do if I had more time or resources... frustrating. :\
On a typical Friday night I am
Resting from the week, digging into a book, enjoying a night out, spending time in conversation with friends... anything could happen.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
We can talk about this later...
You should message me if don't take photos of yourself in your bathroom, you don't make a duck face in every photo you are in, you don't cake on ten layers of make-up (highlighting naturally beautiful features is one thing - cakeing on your base so thick I can see the outline of your make-up like a clown is another), you can take cynicism and sarcasm with a grain of salt, you can have a discussion about opposing views without embracing the rage and losing your wits, and you have a good sense of humor and can enjoy life with what you're given instead of feeling the need to subsidise values for "things".

Seriously ladies - no games, no subtext, no drama... let you be you and live/laugh/love!
