My self-summary
I haven't updated this in a long time, so it's overdue.

Some general stuff: I'm tall, I love music and go to great extremes to see as much of it as possible, once I played with a penguin, I was a fat kid but am not anymore, in little league I struck out the first batter I faced in three straight pitches, I make theatre a lot, I bicycled across the country when I was younger but then I got a car, I'm a terrible drummer but love it, I worry about being pretentious but not enough to stop me from making potentially pretentious things.

Some specific stuff: Professionally, I am a theatre-maker. Predominantly I work as a writer but I've also performed a lot over the last 10 years. I make weird show mostly. Feel free to google them if you are curious. Titles are: Stupid and Contagious (my show vaguely about wanting to be Kurt Cobain), Mustardseed (my bedtime story for grown-ups), Cosmonaut (my hunt for the worst sex tip ever written by Cosmo magazine), menage (immersive political play about sex work), and Sex With Animals (make sure you google "Sex With Animals Fringe" or you will get some troubling results. I was also in the Neo-Futurists doing a show called "Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind" which a smattering of people in America have heard of.

Some personal stuff: I am non-monogamous (I use polyamorous but that term has specific definitions for some people). I have a primary partner (cis female) and we have a spectacular, energetic, gorgeous little hell-raiser of a child who is a year and half aged in this world. Also, I identify as queer though to be honest, I've dated more in the hetero-world than other places. (But open to changing that ;))
What I’m doing with my life
See above. Theatre-ing/Dad-ing/Working

Then see below - TV shows. Music.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my height...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music - Radiohead, Animal Collective, Tame Impala, Neutral Milk Hotel/Jeff Mangum, Kendrick, Car Seat Headrest, Caribou, Fourtet, Portishead, Beach House, LCD Soundsystem, Mr Scruff, Jon Hopkins, Hot 8 Brass Band, Panorama Jazz Band, Dumpstaphunk, Neil Young, Dylan, Belle and Sebastian, Mahler, Shostakovich, Phish, Paul Motion, Zappa instrumental albums, SBTRKT, Minutemen, DJ Shadow, Flying Lotus, Fugazi, Nirvana and a totally guilty pleasure has been a re-listen to Oasis (I blame "My Mad Fat Diary" which you should totally watch btw). Music and especially live music are a massive part of my life. By the way, have you heard Hot Chip's cover of Dancin' in the Dark? It really shouldn't be as amazing as it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyN_d28-sfw

Books/Plays - Shakespeare above all else (Hamlet, Lear, 12th Night especially), Daniel Kitson (if you know his stuff and love him, we should probably hang out), Mike Birbiglia, lots of international Fringe stuff, Chekhov, Pinter, 1930 Russian Surrealists.
Rabbit Run, Everything Is illuminated, Even Cowgirls Get The Blues, Jimmy Corrigan - The Smartest Kid on Earth, Fates and Furies, and just read Sweetbitter which though not one of my favorites ever certainly was an enjoyable read.

Movies (I'm lacking here) - Big Lebowski, Rushmore, Barton Fink, any Tarkovsky film, You The Living, Up, Aladdin (for real...I don't know why).

How about TV shows too - Mad Men (greatest show of all time?), Transparent (greatest show of right now?), High Maintenance, BoJack, The Affair (weirdest season 3 of all time?), Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Undeclared, Freaks and Geeks, The Wire, Simpsons seasons 5-8, Walking Dead (not any more but the early stuff), Breaking Bad, Homeland, recently I've been remembering Duck Tales fondly though I probably haven't seen it in twenty years. I think TV is the most exciting artistic medium going right now.

Food - Surf and Turf po boy at Parkway, Red Beans at Frankie and Johnny's, Duck Special Sausage at Dat Dog, pizza and bagels (I miss New York!), Pad See Ew, Perogies, Mac and Cheese (I make the best you'll ever have), kale, lentils, scotch/bourbon (does whiskey count as food?)
Six things I could never do without
- iPod (bring back the classic!)
- A notebook and pen
- theatre
- live music
- cheese (I grew up in Wisconsin...ya know?)
- my #2 was two things so I'll stop there.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what to write next, what to write now, how to say ____ in spanish, how long until naptime, how to cook organic, low sodium, veggie filled foods and make them taste good.
On a typical Friday night I am
Wait...What day of the week is it?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll admit just about anything but you have to ask it...so there's your opening. What do you want to know?
You should message me if
- you prefer the unorthodox
- you want to talk whiskey
- you want to practice shakespeare lines with me
- you are cool with the polyamory, open relationship world. I don't think any of the terms for it are satisfactory, but you get the idea from those words.

I have a pretty strong belief in not putting a hierarchical value on relationships. People fill different roles in different people's worlds and I am striving to make best community of partners, artists, friends and people that fit more than one of those.

That got a little preachy at the end so I'll just leave you with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdCy6MGOVfw
