My self-summary
I moved from NYC about 10 years ago and consider it my country of origin. This east/west exposure has influenced me in unexpected ways. I'm bookish and practice aikido (with great power comes a great many bruises at the dojo). I've lived in London, Athens (Greece) and Portland but San Francsico is my home. I'm patient with honest people and all "New Yorker" with everyone else. I'm shy but I love a good flirt, and I've got lots of ideas but am a man of few words. I'm smart yet the joke's on me and I'm a good listener yet easily bored. Sometimes I'm snarky but mostly I'm earnest and I know that karma works and yet I did that thing (dang it!). And I'm looking for a partner with whom I can share all that's good, better, and best.
What I’m doing with my life
Today I looked at footage for the documentary I'm making, made a consultation for another film, and had dinner and a movie with a friend whose film I just finished sound designing. This is a normal day.
I’m really good at
I'm the best at planning that secret weekend that revolves around exploring, cocktails, hikes to nowhere, musty bookstores, weird restaurants, and long, lazy mornings.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love movies. I watch them, make them, talk about them, think about them, dream about them.... Movies I've seen in the last few months or so include 'Boyhood' (brilliant), the latest Wes Anderson (pretty good), Tarkovsky's 'Stalker' (unbelievable!), 'Lawrence of Arabia' for the one millionth time (it's playing again at the end of this month at the Castro if you want to go) and 'Snowpiercer' and 'Birdman' (fever dreams of weirdness).

Recent reads include, Franzen's 'Freedom', 'The Book of Five Rings', and a gigantic book about Shinto written in the 60's. I just finished Vonnegut and T.E.Lawrence and just started 'Time Out of Joint' by P.K.Dick and a book on ultra-runners.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-Movies
-Raw fish (its deliciousness and profit margin)
-The confluence of art, spirituality, and science
-The perfect meal
-That crazy shit Neil deGrasse Tyson says
You should message me if
...you sing in the shower, snap a good photo, leave a big tip, enjoy a good bedtime story, talk with your hands, say what you mean, kiss with abandon, like the tall ones, are reasonably tall yourself, appreciate the clever use of run-on sentences, have a great smile and use it often, have a giant brain, lead by example, have gotten this far, might like what comes next, and were free for the next hundred years or so.
