My self-summary
Hi :) Thanks for checking out my profile. My name is Eric. Originally from Miami, I was hired as an engineer here in Huntsville back in 2013.

I've been off this site for a while now. The below has been updated, but some of my question answers may not be accurate.
What I’m doing with my life
Mostly work, trying to get back into the gym, and otherwise doing my best to be social at every opportunity. Luckily I've built up a small but decent group of friends since moving up here, so there's generally something to do (house parties, canoe trips, events around town, etc). Otherwise, maintenance on the house/lawn/garden/car, or wasting my life in front of the computer :P
I’m really good at
Skill wise, I would say I know a little about a lot. I spend a lot of time learning random things, which you'd think would make me good at trivia...
The first things people usually notice about me
No idea :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Oh boy, I've been reading a LOT lately. Also picked up audio books (I drive to Miami a few times a year, 14 hours, so it works wonders). Mostly fiction (sci-fi/fantasy stuff), though I'm not above the classics. Recently read the Powder Mage trilogy.

Movies: I generally go for funny, lighter films. If I had to say which was my favorite, The Princess Bride would come to mind.

Shows: Recent favorites would be Archer and Bob's Burgers, binged the hell out of them...

Music: Anything and everything. Recent favorites are things like Of Monsters and Men and Glitch Mob.

Food: Hmmm, hard to choose a favorite. I cook most of my own meals, but love Brunch (breakfast all day please :) ) I don't like seafood (odd for a Miamian, I know...). Trying my hand at a raised bed garden with mixed results, but I'm hoping for a good sweet potato crop at least...
The six things I could never do without
Superficial answers:

1) Good stories
2) Cool tech stuff
3) My car
4) My computer
5) A notebook/sketchbook
6) My imagination

My serious answers would be:

1) Family. Wouldn't have gotten here without them, and they are a continuous source of support.
2) Friends.
There may be other things, but as I sit here writing this, I can't think of anything. All else is luxury.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking of where I'm going, where I've been, and where I'd like to travel to. I think up kooky inventions I'll probably never work on, or stories I'll probably never write. Or more practically, what to do around the house to improve it (damn HGTV...) and, recently, whether I should get a dog or not.
On a typical Friday night I am
House parties on occasion. Group of us have been going to Concert on the Docks at Lowe Mill a lot. But generally, Friday night is a night in for me. Weekends are when fun, social things are done :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once had shoulder length hair. Now I'm balding. Genetics is a cruel mistress. Doing my best to make it work though. Luckily I've a decent head for it, or so I'm told...
You should message me if
any of the above (or what you might read elsewhere) interested you, you just want someone to chat with, or you want to argue with me about something. I'm always open to talk, and will speak honestly on any topic :)
I'm looking for someone who wants to be in a serious relationship, is willing to put in the effort for one, and who is going to demand the same from me.
