My self-summary
Why hello! And welcome to my profile. If you're put off by eccentricity, over-articulateness (that's a word now! :) ), whimsy, sarcasm, great sex, ethics, or reading . . . you might want to go ahead and leave now, and conserve a few minutes of life. You could boil an egg! Or something.

I'm an oddity. A pithy pessimist who still wants to believe and allow others the benefit of the doubt, even when I know better. I love to learn and experience and enjoy, and am maybe just a bit deviant on occasion . . .

Nor am I constantly waxing philosophical; I love going hiking, going to movies, karaoke, snorkeling on occasion and . . . wait, is there anything else to do here on Oahu? Oh right, I'm back in Florida. Wait, no, it's Maryland now . . . where are any of these activities?!

Ahem, I'm a fan of ordering take out or occasionally --gasp-- cooking a good meal and settling in to a movie at home.

I'm also very funny. I swear. My humor is ribald and robust and all sorts of impressive words that start with "r!"

I'm looking for an attractive, articulate woman with whom I can mostly just enjoy a good conversation and spending some time with. If you can really appreciate a good moment, really live in it, you pretty much have me. It's truth. Beyond that, physical intimacy (from a simple touch on) with someone I can relate to is pretty fantastic. Just be prepared to take your time.

I am True, Bemused, and Brooding
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying life as I travel through it. Trying to maintain mental and physical fitness, sometimes failing brilliantly. Getting out, experiencing nature and friends, and working on sucking the marrow out of my time here. Working on being more concise.
I’m really good at
I do a pretty good impression of myself. :) I'm capable with the analytical, but also tend to know my way around languages and people without too much difficulty.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair or my vocabulary, more often than not. A testament to the fact that first impressions tend to be less than profound.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book would have to be Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, although I admittedly don't read often. I am an avid movie-watcher though, and my choice there would have to be "Grand Canyon" -- you honestly can't go wrong with Lawrence Kasdan. Just about anything Tarantino also gets a mention, if only for the artistry and cinematography involved. Oh, and since it has become an issue in recent years, I have to do my part in adding that Boondock Saints is nowhere near the quality or calibur of movie that Pulp Fiction is.

As for music, I'm a bit of a streak listener. I become infatuated with a song, listen the texture out of it, then revisit it about a year later. My latest is "Ballad of the Thin Man" by Dylan, because I can relate to it. I like to be motivated and charged by my music, and I love most classic rock, especially The Who, AC/DC,Steely Dan and Dire Straits.

My favorite food is a light pesto pasta, and I love most Chinese and Mexican food.
Six things I could never do without
As interesting and innovative as this site is, it can be oh-so-gimmicky and generic sometimes . . .

I'd have to say:

A purpose in life
My loved ones
Some sort of real home to return to (don't believe that old cliche!)
Nature around me
My laptop (a little unsettlingly)
Booyah Sexy Time
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future, where I'm going, what my plans for it are (what the hell are they again?), others' point of view, the way life works around me and why things happen the way they do.
On a typical Friday night I am
Going out for dinner, movies, and/or karaoke. Otherwise, on a residential hike with friends or maybe going for a late-night drive, radio blaring.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm different than my appearance to others would suggest. Not that everyone isn't, but hey, at least I'm willing to admit it!
You should message me if
You have anything to add.

If you'd like some good conversation.

You are a connoisseur of the happy-fun sexy times.

Just for shits and giggles.

You want to watch a movie!

If you are easily amused.

Please DO NOT message me if:

You're going to send me a message shorter than a full sentence.

You're not interested in actually meeting-- at some point I would like to, ya know, see and speak with you in real life, like a real, non-virtual person! :)
