I'm trustworthy, I'm kind, I'm pretty damn cool, and I am worth getting to know. I have good friends and I like to catch up with them over drinks and/or dinner as often as I have time.
I'd like someone I'm dating to be more into vacations than material possessions. I want them to enjoy a little pampering, occasionally being cooked breakfast in bed, snuggling on a couch while we watch a movie, and holding hands while we walk through the park. I want them to be independent, but not so fierce about it that they won't ask for or take help when it makes sense.
Water activities are a big part of my life. I scuba dive, and learning to do so was one of the most amazing, life-changing events in my life. I love being in the warm crystal-clear ocean, 60 feet underwater, taking pictures of all the fishes. It is a zen experience and I'd do it everyday if I could. So, as you can imagine, my vacations are usually to places with warm water, warm weather, and great diving. I can snow ski well, but given a choice between the mountains and the beach, I'm going to the beach.
I like my life. I'm a happy person. I usually gravitate towards happy people. My mood isn't dependent on someone else's mood, but it is affected by it. So, I'm interested in dating someone that would describe their outlook on life as positive and/or optimistic.
I'm an approachable guy. At least, that is what I think. So, if you get some sort of impression that I wouldn't like you for some arbitrary, non-proven, self imposed rationale, then forget that and send me a message. I'm not shy, but I'm busy, so I will appreciate being contacted instead of waiting for me to contact you, since I don't spend a lot of time looking at OKCupid and I may just not have seen your profile yet.
I'm also a great dad, but my two boys do not live with me. So, I may not mention them very often at first, but rest assured that I love them very much. They live with their mother right now, and I usually see them every other weekend. They are my special little guys and I'd be happy to introduce you once we get to know each other a bit.

Books. (reading for pleasure is one of the greatest gifts that a person can give themselves)
The Internet. (seriously, I can go about a week without losing my mind, but any longer than that and I can feel my frontal lobe start to shrink... it's not so much about the social thing, as it is the vast resource of new information constantly available.)
A warm, comfortable bed to sleep in.
...the acts that have been perpetrated throughout history in the name of religion and how, despite the benefit of hindsight, they are most definitely still being perpetrated.
(and related to that previous thought)
...how our generation will look to future generations. Will they be ashamed? Amazed? Have we reached the pinacle of civilization? If not, will we make it there?
...how money can possibly be a factor when it comes to exploring space. It costs a lot to go to Mars? So freakin' what? The benefits and payoffs are beyond value.
...how more cars in a turn lane could get through a green light if they were spaced farther apart when stopped rather than crammed all together. I'm pretty sure I'm onto something here.
...School, school, studying, school, best practices in nursing, school...oh, and did I mention school?
...I want a really nice house someday, one that I can name with a nice big acid-etched rock out in front, and I'm going to name it "El Pollo Del Mar", cause I think that would be hilarious.
...My sincere hope that someday, somehow, I'll have a real-life, fully-functional robot pal of my very own. (Get on it, scientists!)
