My self-summary
Critical Focus: The area of an image that is optically sharpest.

I'm looking for my last first date. I've never been married. No kids. No drama. I'd rather stay single than be mismatched.

I'm a bad yinzer. I grew up a heathen in the holy city of football and beer. I got out as soon as I finished college 17 years ago. I've lived on both coasts, studied abroad, and I'm on my 4th career.

I studied Architecture, practiced residential design & urban planning for about 8 years. When the housing/construction marked collapsed, I got my MFA in film, and moved to Los Angeles. Now I find myself back in my hometown.

I used to want things. A house. Family of my own. Things don't work out the way you want. Now I'm way off the map I drew for myself. Instead of things, I have a life and work that I love and being parent is now at the bottom of my list.

I am definitely the creative type. Not the "write on walls in crayon" creative type. I am more the engineer/art-director/design-nazi who will spend 2 hours lighting a can of Raid™ or a bowl of dog food for a commercial. Those are real life examples

As much as I like animals in general, I am definitely more of a cat-person. If had to say what my dating "type" was, I would definitely say other cat-people.

I have done more than my fill of chasing. Please be willing to get caught.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in film production. I primarily work on commercials, TV and numerous side projects for my reel. I also teach production at a local film school.

In my spare time, I volunteer for Habitat for Humanity working on renovating homes. I spent the first half of my career drawing houses. Now I'm learning how to actually build them.

I'm also house shopping.
I’m really good at
I am good at almost everything...except meeting new people. Hence the online profile.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I look exactly like my photos...and are usually surprised for some reason.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books...I mostly read trade magazines in my field. The few books I am reading are Song of Fire and Ice, The Codex Saraphinianus, and short stories by Larry Niven.

Movies...there are too many. My favorites are Pleasantville, Amelie, Devil's Backbone, Punch-Drunk Love, Death to Smoochy. I still rent DVDs from Netflix. I love a good ghost story.

Shows... Right now I am going through Master of None, Doyle's War, and catching up on Breaking Bad. Looking forward to the new season of GoT.

Music...I listen to a lot of ambient Electronica, Modern Classical, and SEAL. Yeah. Lots of SEAL.

Food...Generally speaking, My favorite things are toasted, roasted, seared, poached, and sautéed. I eat meat. Fresh vegetables are awesome, but I don't touch anything Vegetarian/Vegan if it's pretending to be something that isn't.
The six things I could never do without
1. This position was my cat who recently passed. Obviously I am doing without, but I'll get another cat when I am ready.
2. Supportive shoes
3. Corrective vision
4. Fresh Veggies
5. Good-tasting water
6. Reason
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to striking a balance between my inner 12 year-old who wants to explore and play, my inner Gentleman Professor who wants to cook and build, and my inner Neanderthal who just wants to eat and ___ all weekend.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm a freelancer. Weekends are meaningless.
You should message me if
I am open to suggestions of where I can get a really good cheese plate.
