My self-summary
I'm looking for my last first date. I've never been married. I have no kids. I lack drama.

I could probably use more drama in my life.

I am of the creative type. Not the "write on walls in crayon" type. I am more the analytical, art-director/design-nazi who will spend 2 hours lighting a bowl of dog food for a commercial or fuss for hours over type kerning on my business cards.

My business cards are awesome.

Moment of disclosure: I am currently living with my parents having recently moved back to Pittsburgh after living on the west coast for the last 15 years. The stay is temporary until I buy a house. I have a house selected. I am "PATIENTLY" waiting to file my 2016 taxes so I can include last year's earnings on my mortgage application.

I am a patient person.

As much as I like animals, I am definitely more of a cat-person. If had to say what my dating "type" was, I would definitely say other cat-people.

...but six cats is too many.

In addition to cat-people I find I'm most attracted to smart, independent women who know what they want out of life and have the courage to pursue it. The irony is that smart, independent women tend to want to rebel against the patriarchy that constantly says they're supposed to "get a man".

The patriarchy is overrated and it's days are numbered.

I have done my fair share of chasing. Please be willing to get caught.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in film production. I mainly work with camera department. I primarily make my living on commercials and children's TV. On the side, I work on projects for my reel. In the winter months, I teach these things at a local film school.

I love my work. It doesn't feel like work because it is also my hobby and vacation, but it is not my passion.

My passion is food, I would never taint my passion, by turning it into my work.

In my spare time, I volunteer for Habitat for Humanity working on, fixing, and renovating homes.

I love freelancing. It's a scary life sometimes, but Its the good kind of scary that keeps you from falling asleep in your life.
I’m really good at
I can do anything I set my mind to...except people.

I suck terribly at meeting new people.
The first things people usually notice about me
I look exactly like my photos...people are usually surprised for some reason. With any luck I will look like this while laying in my casket.

I want to be cremated and made into bricks.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books...I mostly read trade magazines in my field. The few books I am reading are Song of Fire and Ice, The Codex Saraphinianus, and short stories by Larry Niven.

Movies...there are too many. My favorites are Pleasantville, Amelie, Devil's Backbone, Punch-Drunk Love, Death to Smoochy. I still rent DVDs from Netflix. I love a good ghost story.

Shows... Right now I am going through the first season of True Detective... I don't make a lot of time for TV. Looking forward to the new season of GoT.

Music...I listen to a lot of ambient Electronica, Modern Classical, and SEAL. Yeah. Lots of SEAL.

Food...Generally speaking, My favorite things are toasted, roasted, seared, poached, and sautéed. I eat meat. Fresh vegetables are awesome, but I don't touch anything Vegetarian/Vegan if it's pretending to be something other than vegetables.
The six things I could never do without
1. This position was my cat who recently passed. Obviously I am doing without, but I'll get another cat when I am ready.
2. Supportive shoes
3. Corrective vision
4. Fresh Veggies
5. Good-tasting water
6. Reason
7. Frisson
8. New Math
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Two things:

1). Striking a balance between my inner 12 year-old who wants to explore and play, my inner Gentleman Professor who wants to cook and build, and my inner Neanderthal who just wants to eat and ___ all day.

2). The next time I can have pizza.
On a typical Friday night I am
Weekends are meaningless to a freelancer.

Wednesday, I play with my "dolls". If you want to know more, you may only ask in person.
You should message me if
If I message you. Even if it is to say "Thanks for writing but..."

If you can suggest a good place to get a cheese plate with a glass of wine.

You are actually going to put fourth the other 1/2 of the effort to dating...and time. Yeah, I'm busy too, but I make the time.

You want more out of life than becoming barefoot and pregnant, because I can't help you there. ✂✂!
