My self-summary
A few adjectives describing myself - honest, kind, humble, caring, creative, intelligent, great sense of humor, well-traveled, intellectually curious, politically progressive (no conservative politics), polite, tender-hearted (but extremely selective – no children please, be within in age range, and no photo - no response). I am passionate and motivated, in addition to having all the healthy and hearty contradictions that make each human unique. As I am an artist, academic, and activist, I am naturally inclined to these fellow tribe members. :)

As has been said, "I hold this to be the highest task for a bond between two people: that each protects the solitude of the other" (Rainer Maria Rilke)...indeed.

I try to learn from each encounter I have with any other person or animal, that is, I view all as teachers. I adore children and have helped raise several, but I do not see them as a part of my future. I’m an only child but with 38 first cousins, I never lacked for surrogate siblings!

Bass players are leitmotif in my life. :)

I’m a cultural/educational anthropologist and visual artist (mixed media usually; B.F.A. in graphic design, but have a great affinity for all art and creative endeavors – the fine arts are a passion). I keep many creative and research projects ongoing, including now writing a book on the music industry and the civil rights movement. I never cease to be amazed by the natural world and human behavior.

Travel is a vital part of my life (46 countries, so that is a bit of an understatement), and I have worked and lived in a variety of cultures. A few favorite general regions would be Southeast Asia, and Central and South America.

I am creative, caring, and mindfully-aware. I attempt to be non-violent in thought, word, and deed. I enjoy the general unplanned and unpredictable in life, and I crave intelligent, informed conversation with creative, curious, artistic, well-read, gentle-souled, and humorous individuals.

Kind of a cosmic cowgirl I guess, but making the road here on earth by just walking. Best of luck to everyone – peace!
What I’m doing with my life
...learning as I go; being gloriously human while spiritually-evolving (I aim to do this gracefully - usually ends up happening with some occasions/situations more than others... :)
I’m really good at
...still being empathic while wandering through a number of dimensions.
The first things people usually notice about me
Eyes, hair, and smile seem to be consistent themes, but I hope most of all emanations of kindness and non-judgment...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
These are like air to me...air being fundamental to life and much too precious to prioritize! A few, however, would be critical theory; Munch, Mucha; anything by Cohen, Rumi, Rilke; PJ Harvey, Pixies, Bowie, Smiths, Cure, X, Clash, Billy Bragg; one-of-a-kind & out-of-the-way places of any kind, especially for Indian and Thai (having lived in Thailand, I pride myself on being quite a Thai food snob).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
art, ideas, travel, music, cultures, cooking, creativity, social justice, the human condition, astral possibilities
On a typical Friday night I am
doing most anything, "typical" about me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Some bits of information are earned privileges. ;)
You should message me if
you think you're as amazed by it all as I am.
