My self-summary
I am generally an independent person. I'm somewhat artistic and yet work in a technical field. I like to make people laugh and/or discuss philosophy.
What I’m doing with my life
Life is an adventure! Every day is a gift. Every moment an opportunity for something new. But then sleep is good too.

Life has been relatively calm and uneventful lately. So I'm working on finding new challenges and meeting new people.
I’m really good at
I cook a lot. At least once a day. I'm a big fan of organic and shop the local farmers markets when I can.
I play the piano professionally occasionally. Music was a big part of my life growing up.
The first things people usually notice about me
People have told me that I look trustworthy (the fools!)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Reading - the annotated novels of Sherlock Holmes, Dilbert, Calvin and Hobbes, A Walk in the Woods, Wikipedia, This is your brain on music, etc. French Bandes Dessinees.

Movies - The Usual Suspects, It's a Wonderful Life, Roshomon, Inconvenient Truth, etc.

Food - I cook a lot and eat out occasionally. I'm kind of a health nut. I don't eat junk food and feel guilty if I don't buy organic/local. I'm almost vegetarian in that I limit my animal protein to fish and chicken.

Music - old pop: Bob Marley, the B-52s, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, the Pixies. new pop: Kendrick Lamar, Radiohead, the White Stripes, the Dresden Dolls, Modest Mouse. classical: Beethoven, Bach, Brahms, Debussy, Mahler, Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Orff.

Talk radio - Free Speech TV, Thom Hartmann.
The six things I could never do without
humor
music

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I like to sit on my porch in the evening and look up at the sky when the sun is setting and take it all in. I think about doing the same thing when I was a kid and how I really haven’t changed, how the world hasn’t changed much. And yet it's all changing all the time. Who knows where the current will carry you?
On a typical Friday night I am
If it's been a busy week, I will crash, sleep late Saturday morning and do something the following evening instead. If I pace myself well, then maybe hanging out with friends, going dancing, or on a romantic date somewhere.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can only throw a frisbee back handed.
