Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
varies so much;
classical novels, in bks and on screen - Austen: especially Pride and Prejudice ( read the annotated copy by David Shepard!!), Hardy, some Dickens: espec. Great Expectations; Little Women, Jane Eyre, House of Mirth, Fathers and Sons (Turgenyev) etc...some poetry: Wordsworth's Ode on Intimations of Immortality is a simply amazing work of art [ <3 ]
Some short stories: Poe, Chekhov,...Sherlock Holmes; Sophocles was wonderful... Music: old rock (50s - 70s, some 80s),..S&G, Eagles, CSN&Y,... so much more...; folk- Espec Dylan {was very much into him back when 98% of the public hated him}, and Waits; bluegrass, some reggae.
I spent many summer nights sitting with friends in Central Park, at the Schaefer music fests in pouring rain, refusing to leave while groups continued to perform. HEY! There's just so wet you can get!!

Classical: Beethoven, Mozart, Sibelius, Dvorak, Mendelssohn... foods: pizza (sorry world, nyc has the best), shakes, scallops, sable, lox... n.y. bialy over bagel, haven't frequented Bway since the mid 70s...; Love Lincoln Center; NYC Ballet; after hours clubs in the village;
museums: Love the Met, Nat Hist, Frick, Planetarium... Central Park's the best; chocolate!!... Marzipan!!...
TV- Old: TZ, Bonanza, Maverick, Perry Mason, Have Gun Will Travel, Cheyenne... Soupy Sales, Shari Lewis (my first love...),... I'm jumping around, i know; and omitting tons... Cheers, Barney Miller, ... now, HIMYM,...Daily Show, Colbert, Rachel Maddow, Last Word, Hardball,... Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents,... PBS: Downton Abbey, Foyle's War, Mr Selfridge, Paradise...
etc....ENOUGH for now; will return...
