My self-summary
In a nutshell I am a nerd. I am an engineer and I love it, I don't so much work but show up and play around in a very well equipped lab. In my free time I spend a lot of time reading random fantasy or scifi books and playing computer games. That said, I also tend to have a varying range of hobbies that I pursue for a year or two before I switch to a new one. I have learned to play multiple musical instruments, albeit not well, I'm just not much of a musician though it amuses me to try. I have spent 10 weeks biking across the country just to see what it was like. I take martial arts, not because I feel the need to be able to fight well, just because I find them an agreeable way to keep me from noticing that I am getting exercise. I enjoy reading web-comics like or its spinoff mostly because it brings me true joy to discover the random obscure tidbits of science it dregs up.

I would like to apologies if this steam of consciousness is annoying. I normal detest them but for a profile summary it is probably appropriate.
What I’m doing with my life
Right I’m trying to figure out what life after college is like. I’m trying to decide if my job is an amazing job to have for the next 5 years or if it is an amazing job to have until I retire. Whether or not I want to get an advanced degree.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My books tend to me a mix of science fiction and fantasy. Neil Gaiman [American Gods], Robert Heinlein [Stranger in a Strange Land, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress] , Isaac Asimov, Jack McDevitt, Jim Butcher [The Dresden Files], George R. R. Martin are some of my favorite authors. I also throw some Ayn Rand in there, but honestly how often can I take a month to make my way though Atlas Shrugged.

I enjoy all types of music, but listen to mostly classical. I play the cello, and am starting to learn to play the piano.

I like movies where I don't have to think, I tend to describe them as movies where I can put my brain in neutral and go along for the ride.
The six things I could never do without
Good Health, Family, Friends
Internet, Books, Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Either things associated with my life, like my job, my newest hobby, or what I want to cook for dinner. Alternatively considering an interesting idea I read in a book or found online.
