My self-summary

I am an open book. If you have any questions about me, feel free to ask. I am open to anything and everything. I enjoy having an intelligent conversation. I see myself as a gentleman and try to keep the tradition of chivalry alive as best I can. I am true to my word and true to my friends and family. I believe honesty and faithfulness in a relationship are extremely important. ENFJ for anyone keeping score at home. I'm not sure if it means much, but I'm a member of MENSA. I'm still uncertain as to whether that carries any weight or not.
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently attending Maritime Academy to study to become a harbor pilot. It's going to be a great adventure, and I am extremely excited for my future. In my spare time, I am a photographer and writer, and publish articles and images in different magazines frequently. Ask me about them, and I would be happy to be more specific about my work. I enjoy traveling and outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping, and sports. I also enjoy social activities and the company of others. Other than that, I'm really laid back and just go with the flow and take things one day at a time. For anyone interested in doing a bit of reading about my future line of work, you can read my article on the Savannah Pilots here:

Anything else, feel free to ask me.
I’m really good at
Listening and caring and being sympathetic; everything a friend should be. I am really good at problem solving. I'm also good at hiking and camping, as well as photography and sports. I know, I already outlined that in the previous paragraph, but I am proud of my work. Oh...and cooking. I love to cook.
The first things people usually notice about me
My intelligence and prolific speaking ability, as well as my kindness. I was raised to be a gentleman.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Authors I enjoy: Robin Cook, Charles Dickens, Edith Wharton, John Updike, and Tom Wolfe to name a few. I like indulging in a good book that makes me think as the plot unfolds.

I don't watch too much TV. I love classic movies, mostly from the 40's-70's.

I mostly listen to 60's-80's rock, as well as jazz and some classical music.

I love cooking and eating. It's nice to try new foods. I enjoy making recipes that have been handed down to me by my grandmother and great-grandmother. I am always trying them out and trying to perfect them. If you want something made, just ask, and I'll be happy to make it for you.
Six things I could never do without
My friends, my camera, my hobbies, the love of my life, the ability to be a free spirit, nature.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to make things better in life, whether it be my life or someone else's life. Where I will travel next (over 20 countries, and counting). Something I wouldn't say I think a lot about, but it crosses my mind from time to time; why so many women out there seem to prefer the stereotypical guy who is 6'2", 200lbs, muscular, and has a full head of black hair and a bit of scruff. It's so boring.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends, at home, or doing school work. School consumes a fair amount of my life these days.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once got Shanghai'd in Shanghai. If you want to know more about that, ask.
You should message me if
You should message me if you like what you see and want to know more about me. I hope to hear from you, but please; leave me a message that's a little more substantial than just "hi" or "hey there" or something along those lines. Be witty and intelligent when you write it. Challenge me. It would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you like me, don't just hit the "liked" button, as I am not a premium member, and I won't be able to see who it was who liked me. Just message me. It's easier that way.

Addendum 1/21/17:
If I message you, and you message me back and there seems to be some interest, don't tell me three messages later that you're talking to someone else, and he wrote to you first, and you're going to try to pursue something with him. That just means you wasted my time, and I'm not interested in that sort of nonsense. If you're genuinely interested in me, and you'd like to get to know me first BEFORE you exercise your "other options" or what have you, that would be great. I hate mind games, and I hate beating around the bush. Just be forthright and forthcoming and honest. It's all I ask, and I don't think that it's asking too much. Also, no kids, please.
