My self-summary
Living the dream!

I love to play field hockey (I started playing on a club team in college, and play every week now). I ran Cross Country and Track in high school, ran independently in college, completed the 2008 Beirut Marathon, and have recently experimented with running in moderation. I have a motorcycle and have taken it on a couple long road trips (Dakotas, Florida).

I like books and card games. I'm interested in words, Lebanese politics (stemming from junior year abroad at the American University of Beirut), and people's stories. I also love to travel - backpacking around Iceland was last summer.
What I’m doing with my life
Grad school. Playing field hockey and drinking lots of coffee. Learning how to cook and getting better at it.
I’m really good at
Making Turkish coffee.
Drinking Turkish coffee.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: "A Storm of Swords" and all of the A Song of Ice and Fire series, Icelandic sagas ("Saga of the Volsungs," "Njal's Saga," etc), "O Pioneers!," "Beowulf," "The Marriage Plot."

Short Stories: "The Dead", "Fox Hunters" (Breece D'J Pancake), "Bartleby"

Poems: Anything Plath or Heaney, with a special nod to "Ariel" and "Casualty"

Movies: "Solaris" (Tarkovsky original) and "28 Days Later"

TV Shows: "The Wire," "Broad City," "The Gilmore Girls," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" (aka KIMMY!!!).

Music: "Sigur Ros," "Windir," "A Fine Frenzy." So basically, all over the place. I read Jane Austen in high school while listening to Norwegian Black Metal if that helps explain the contrast?
The six things I could never do without

The orange Maine Coon kitten with big paws that I shall have once I settle down.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Not private at all - I am hard-of-hearing.
