My self-summary
I'm an unabashed geek, a fan of pop culture of all varieties, movies, TV, games, etc. I do not appreciate those who see it as a shallow interest, pop culture includes a wide variety of media with varying degrees of depth in their story and some things that are trivialized have a lot to offer a person mentally, emotionally... Being able to think about and talk about what you consume is the important part, and if you aren't able to do that you won't be any better off reading Shakespeare, Dostoevsky, or T.S. Eliot than you are watching Daredevil on Netflix. If you can, however, look into a work of fiction and find something that provokes you, and if you want to talk about that... I'm your guy.

I have left leaning political views, I support Bernie all the way, I am terrified of Trump and what he represents, but I am hopeful for the future. I think progress may be slow and at times painful but I think that common sense eventually, inevitably, triumphs.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in retail in a management position, but I am actively job hunting at the moment, and I have high hopes for finding a promising career in the near future. I just don't know what it's going to be.

In non-work parts of my life, I enjoy cosplay, and am working at improving my talents as they relate to that. I enjoy making props but know little to nothing about making clothes/armor/things you wear.

When I get out of the house, I'm into any number of things... I enjoy museum visits, from the Frye Art Museum to the MOHAI, and I have a membership to the Woodland Park Zoo. I also have a Discover Pass, and while I'm not super into camping out, I love to do day trips and short hikes in the many beautiful natural destinations all around Washington. I grew up in Florida, and while I've been here for 7 years now, the woods, mountains and waterfalls have not ceased to amaze me! I also love going out to the movies, of course, and going to new restaurants to eat.
I’m really good at
Not talking at first, and then talking too much. I'm good at a game called Set, if you've heard of it, I challenge you right now! Um, I'm good at general trivia, I know a lot of random facts. I think I'm good at giving gifts.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books- The LotR trilogy, Kingkiller Chronicles, Wheel of Time, Song of Ice and Fire, Everything is Illuminated, The Little Prince, Siddhartha, anything by Herman Hesse actually, Candide, Good Omens, American Gods, Cat's Cradle, Illusions.

Movies- Pan's Labyrinth, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Mad Max: Fury Road, Everything is Illuminated, LotR, The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Snatch, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away. Anything by the Coen Brothers, Guillermo del Toro, or Quentin Tarantino is probably on this list. Also most Miyazaki movies. Most Wes Anderson movies.

Shows- Agents of Shield, Game of Thrones, The 100, Jessica Jones is better than Daredevil, both are good. Breaking Bad, the Office, Parks and Rec, Firefly, True Detective, Futurama, FLCL, Trigun, Naruto, FMA.

Music- Tool, A Perfect Circle, Of Monsters and Men, Mirah. Recently I've been really into the Weeknd, his voice is amazing even if he is mainstream as hell. I like random vocal trance/dubstep, especially when I'm driving for some reason.

Food- Peanut butter is possibly my favorite thing in the world. As for meals, I like a good steak, a good burger, BBQ. I love Japanese curry, Indian curry, and Thai curry. I like Qdoba better than Chipotle. Breakfast food is awesome.
The six things I could never do without
The rain, a good internet connection, a comfortable place to sleep, a source of caffeine, a voice, other people.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What makes something "worth the time." How to understand other people better. Whether or not free will is an illusion (pretty sure it is, sorry). Retiring! ha
On a typical Friday night I am
Possibly working, if not I'm most likely at home. I might go out for a drink on a Friday night if there is sufficient reason, but it's not my modus operandi.
You should message me if
You are interested in meeting sooner rather than later, if you like games and conversation, if you want to be introduced to a new restaurant or check out a museum in the area.
