My self-summary
Dangerous. Mysterious. Exotic. These are some of the many words that have never been used to describe me. I'm a bit of a nerd, well read and overly loquacious, and if I do say so myself a pretty good cook. I don't mind a bit of travel, and I enjoy the more domestic bits of camping (building the fire from nothing but wood and matches, improvised cooking implements, pitching a tent and stargazing). I like tabletop gaming in the form of both board games and classic pen and paper RPGs, and I haven't let a November pass me by in five years without at least trying to win NaNoWriMo. I try to live my life by the dual adages "nothing is too serious to not be laughed at" and "without other people there's no reason to do much of anything."
What I’m doing with my life
Since the day I arrived on this planet, blinking stepped into the sun, I knew there was more there to see than could ever be seen, more to do than-- wait, no, that's something else.

I feel like this question wants some kind of long-term answer, but I don't have one. I'm not some kind of prospectless slacker, but I couldn't tell you where I see myself in five years either. I prefer a more reactionary style, where the world tells me what is happening and I decide what to do about it.

At the moment, I'm writing software and paying off student loans, but when I run out of those... well, we'll see.
I’m really good at
Logic puzzles, baking desserts, and feigning knowledge of well, everything. I'm exceptionally talented at describing my personal achievements utilizing miniscule vocabulary.
The first things people usually notice about me
My super snazzy jacket.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, A Song of Ice and Fire, random stuff I grab from the clearance rack at Half-Price Books.
Movies: The Princess Bride. I'll watch a lot of things and I enjoy most science fiction.
TV: Doctor Who, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Alphas. Character driven dramas with cheesy plots and great writing.
Music: I'm a huge fan of show tunes and 80s rock, but I also listen to music not intended for human consumption - mashups of Daft Punk and the Bee Gees, out of genre big band covers of late 2000s pop songs, and Moon Hooch.
Food: The list of what isn't my favourite would be shorter (mushrooms only). I'm a decent enough cook that I can make something palatable out of most anything.
The six things I could never do without
An internet connection, family, friends, my kitchenaid mixer, and two other things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Work, play, what tomorrow holds, and the entire soundtrack of Les Miserables. Also, lately, how badly I want to see Hamilton.
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't really have a typical Friday night. Sometimes my Friday nights include spontaneous Italian accents or preemptively relaxing in preparation for the rest of the weekend. On the odd occasional Friday, some friends and I will visit the comedy club. Other nights I'm working late, or helping sort a friend's Magic card collection.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can be fairly shy. I'm working on overcoming it, but I still tend to lean heavily on sarcasm and my quick wit whenever I am feeling uncomfortable. I'll leave it to you to determine if it's working.

tl;dr: I can't make pierogies.
You should message me if
If you're passionate and enthusiastic about something, whether it's Jude Law or Contract Law, beekeeping or goalkeeping. Nothing is more fascinating to me than getting caught up in someone else's enthusiasm.

If you like the Princess Bride and want to have a movie marathon where no one will tell you to shut up when you quote your favorite line.

If you want to have an experimental cooking session with someone who doesn't care if you get flour all over the kitchen. If you like cats.
