No Elvis, Beatles, or The Rolling Stones.
I am Fox News' boogeyman. Anything they say about liberals, it's all true about me. I want to steal from the rich, give to the lazy poor, I've started a war on Christmas, and I believe that men have no goddamned right to tell women how they're allowed to live their lives. Whatever they say about me, it's all true.
I rock my Adidas, never rock FILA.
I might just be living proof that anything can be got over. Other human beings can be pretty terrible, but somehow, for whatever reason, I always try to stay positive and always try to see the good in people. I think people get so hung up on idiotic things in other's lives that they forget that there's a person in the middle of all that. I'm not sure what I mean by all of that...
I really love outdoors type stuff. Camping, hiking, fishing, climbing trees, looking at birds, touching rocks, finding treasures, building lean-tos, all that stuff.
I'm trying to do more things for myself these days. That means more travel, more writing, more exploring. If you want to tag along for any of that, cool.
Albert Camus, Hunter S. Thompson, Joseph Heller, Vladimir Nabokov, Christopher Hitchens, Richard Feynman, George Orwell, Carl Sagan, and the list goes on.
Movies: My taste in movies varies, I collect Criterion movies, but I also collect Roger Corman movies. I watch way too many movies, so chances are if you reference a movie I'll have seen it or at the very least know about it. Also, older horror movies are almost always awesome (I STILL have a crush on Trash from Return of the Living Dead).
Television: Mystery Science Theater 3000, Breaking Bad, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Cosmos, Mad Men, Parks and Rec, and some random stuff I find on Netflix. I like BBC comedies a lot too.
Music: Phil Ochs (Especially stuff from Pleasures of the Harbor and Tape from California), The Clash, The Damned, XTC, Beastie Boys, and really, a bunch of other stuff. I think as long as the artist has something they want to say with their music, any genre can be good.
Food: I'll try anything once, but bonus points if you're an Italian grandma. I'm not sure I'm a good cook or anything, but lately I've been putting things I like together to see how they taste and I'm having a lot of fun with it!
I guess the closest thing I can come up with is people. I'm disappointed with humanity a lot of the time, but there are always those people you meet or learn about that humble you and make you realize that we're all capable of good things. It's like Joe Strummer said, "Without people, you're nothing."
As for things I regularly think about, there's a lot of things. I guess I think about how I can do something I love with my life and what I'd want my future to be like.
