My self-summary
Hi there. My name is Dan, as the nickname implies. OK, easy stuff out of the way. LOL. I'm not religious at all, Agnostic in fact. (Went straight for the big stuff didn't I? Hah.) My favorite activity is reading, in fact I'm something of a bibliophile. I'm really passionate about football, particularly Notre Dame football, the Chicago Bears, and the Indianapolis Colts, though to a lesser extent than the Bears. Other than that, I enjoy learning about Biology, I was a biology major in college. I also like to read about and learn about history. I'm something of a WW2 buff. I'm kinda geeky like that, but I also like regular stuff, like movies, particularly Mel Brooks comedies. I dunno what else to say here. I'm not great at filling out these profile things.
What I’m doing with my life
Well, for roughly the last 4 years, I've worked at Walmart, but I recently got a job that actually uses my degree, at the South Bend Medical Foundation. So yay.
I’m really good at
Solving problems and schoolwork in general, except for calculus, I suck at that. A select few video games. Listening to people.
The first things people usually notice about me
The first thing people notice about me is that I'm really freaking tall. Built rather like a football lineman. The next thing people notice about me is that I'm a curious person. I like to talk to people and find out about their lives. They also usually figure out pretty quick that I'm a pretty cool guy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Well, I can tell you some of my favorite books that I've read recently. One was "Making Money" by Terry Pratchett, he's hilarious. I also liked a book called "Pyramid Scheme" by Eric Flint and Dave Freer. In general I like Science Fiction, Fantasy too. One of my favorite contemporary authors is Harry Turtledove. Favorite author of all time is probably Isaac Asimov though. I love classic Sci-Fi. Also fantasy, though that's mostly limited to Tolkien. I also enjoyed the Amber Chronicles. I'm a pretty voracious reader. I typically read about 12-15 books a month. Not all of it Sci-Fi and Fantasy, I also read non-fiction books, generally stuff about history.

My favorite movie is actually a trilogy, the LOTR trilogy, original Star Wars is a close second though. Back to the Future and Jurassic Park are also favorites of mine. I also like comedies. (Talladega Nights was hilarious, I like most Will Ferrell movies) Horror movies are good, I don't really get scared when I watch them though anymore.

I'm pretty broad in terms of music that I like, but my favorite genre is Metal. Metallica is a favorite band of mine. But I also like Frank Sinatra, the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and most 80's metal bands. Flogging Molly is another favorite.

When it comes to food, I'm an average American, my favorite foods are stuff like cheeseburgers and pizza. My friends always make fun of me when we go out, because I order American food at Mexican and Chinese restaurants.
The six things I could never do without
Air, books, my cell phone (at this point anyway LOL), my friends, my family, and ND Football. (I used to have my dogs here, but sadly they have both passed away, so I must do without them)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
It kinda varies, depending on what I've read or seen recently. I do spend time thinking about the world and problems in it though. Other times I'm just thinking about how ND is going to do this season. Occasionally the Zombie Apocalypse.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably either hanging out with friends, or at home reading a book. Or working.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm generally pretty open, so the things that I'm private about, I'm REALLY private about. If you get to know me, I'll might tell you though.
You should message me if
You, like me, are an honest, open, kind, and caring person. Intelligence and a sense of humor are also a plus in who I'd like to talk too.
