My self-summary
What I’m doing with my life
I have recently returned from Hawaii and am exploring what to make of that (and ways to keep warm!). I am at an exciting crossroads where it feels like I have the opportunity to create a lifestyle of abundance more on my own terms than before. It will involve photography - I love the beauty and metaphor I find through the lens.
I dance passionately, and love all movement - whether a good long meditative swim, cycle or hike, yoga session. And yes, physical intimacy, oh, yes.
I love being creative with music and healing. And climbing trees when I get the chance.
I’m really good at
Finding solutions. Cooking. Using my body effectively. Teaching others to use their body effectively. Fixing things. Applied physics. Thinking (and doing) 'outside the box'. Shining metaphoric light so others can find their way more easily (personal coaching).
The first things people usually notice about me
My light energy and the way I can easily connect with people and make them feel seen. How fun I can be. That I have a well-developed, quirky sense of humour and am willing to use it. Oh yeah, and the legs. A lot seem to like my legs. I love how well they have carried me all these years. And now they dance me, too.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music! Anything I can harmonize, jam with or dance to! Unusual time signatures and clever syncopation. I love the rich spaces between musical notes.
Sting, Joni Mitchell, Beatles. Tchaikovsky. 70s rock, Jazz (esp swing), tribal world beats that take my feet to frenzy. The deep harmonies of chorale music (esp Faure), some folk - and most anything with devotional content. I play/sing a bunch of different stuff, and have just started "playing well with others".
I've seen too few good movies. Loved What dreams May Come, English Patient, Contact, Princess Bride, Microcosmos (bugs up way close!), Never owned a TV yet, but I know there are worthwhile shows to watch some day. Really liked the first 2/3 of Matrix 1, until it was just perpetual fight scenes (yawn).

Most memorable recent books -Musicophelia (a neurologist writes about music and the brain), The Brain That Changes Itself and One River (and anything else that Wade Davis does) - which is ethnobotanically-oriented travels around tropical America - did I say I want to explore Amazonia some, soon!?) Love reading Kingsolver, a good historical or dramatic fiction. Words rock! Rumi, Hafiz, Rilke, EE Cummings. Italo Calvino. Dianne Ackerman. Naruda. Marge Piercey's 'Woman on the Edge of Time', and 'He, She and It'. Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Still curious why feminist utopian novels caught my attention for so long.

I really enjoy good food! Prefer local and organic and aspire to be live-foods/vegan. My diet is generally eat what ever and whenever I can (and try to keep the sugar component as low as possible). Seldom eat red meat. And did I say I'm an excellent cook?
I have hedonistic tendencies that present in my enjoyment of food (and most anywhere else...). Ethnically, I love Thai and Indonesian most. Love cooking a fresh filet of wild salmon to perfection.
The six things I could never do without
Dance. Music. Touch. Earthly and heavenly beauty. Human ingenuity. Excellent food. Sunshine. Bees.
How many r that?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music. Other cultures and languages (always want to learn the local language and enjoy it). The pursuit of Right livelihood (I think I found some) and lifestyle. Finding solutions to problems.
finding pleasure. My growing 'edge'. Where to find the best chocolate (dark, of course), and the next awesome adventure/travel.
On a typical Friday night I am
Not much 'typical'
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am totally curious for feedback about how my profile reads, to you.
