My self-summary
Dark and brooding, I seethe with untendered passion. Sorry... haven't been there lately. Mostly, I'm like a clown that has to keep a straight face in order to get stuff done. An eccentric (euphamism for weird) fellow, looking for that eccentric lady, for friendship, companionship, and who knows what. Not that I'm clownish, rather reserved until you know me well, but I often see the absurd in the otherwise mundane. Still searching...
Hey, ARCO(AM/PM gas stations) have limited time only STARCRAFT beverage cups - snap one up! ...did anybody go to Infected Mushroom in SF this past Saturday? ...ok, off to the climbing gym.
What I’m doing with my life
Working long hours to get my software co. off the runway... cleared for takeoff, mostly, but also caring for chronically ill Mom.
I’m really good at
writing code, turning obstacles into paths, slightly warped quips (with the right audience), daydreaming about random stuff. Wish I was better at, video games (just don't have the time to master), climbing (need to get more flexible), finding time in the day for every little thing that needs attention, resisting the thingamajig compulsion.
The first things people usually notice about me
Bald head, reserved dimeanor, goofy smile, good listener
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anna Karenina, Digital Fortress, Ths Descent of Men, The Audacity of Hope, Steppenwolf, Sperm Wars, The Fountainhead, Madame Bovary, Confucious:The Analects, Freakonomics, The Help, Outliers, etc. Movies: Blade Runner, Silent Running, Moon, Fifth Element... (yes, sci fi geek), almost anything Peter Sellers was in (esp. Dr Fu Manchu, Being There, Dr Strangelove), psychological thrillers, and Studio Ghibli. Don't really watch TV shows. Music: Electronica (large genre), alternative, classical (baroque), really good soundtracks (Ennio Morricone). Food: bbq'd oysters, crab, Thai, good sushi, Korean Bibimbap, a good IPA.
Six things I could never do without
The notion that my true love is out there (or already with me... ), the idea that I'm doing something productive for society and the planet... ok, I'll back down off the podium =p, cheese, fresh squeased oj, cuddles (for too much longer), working out regularly, reading profound or informative material, laughter!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My son, who I lost to cancer 3 years ago. He's always there.
On a typical Friday night I am
Not typically doing anything, routinely. More than likely, reading.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Previous contents omitted for having elicitted an overwhelming response, lol.
But I will admit to being unabashed. =)
You should message me if
You're still reading =)
