My self-summary
Wow...I haven't updated this thing in a long time so, here goes:

I'm weird.

Totally glad we got that out of the way. I'm a nigh-on six-foot-tall black chick that loves Asian culture and is coming off the tail end of living in China for almost five years. So, there's an adjustment there, I'm sure you can imagine.

I'm a major geek. I never grew out of that experimental stage in my life and am still just as likely to jump on a shopping trip as I am on the most recent season of a popular Anime. If you want to go to a Comic or Anime convention, the answer is yes. Period.

I'm adventurous! I lived in the far east for a fifth of my life and loved every moment of it! I've eaten some pretty scary things, jumped off some cliffs (despite being terrified of heights), and gone out of my comfort zone more times than I can count...and I feel like it's only going to get worse with age.

In short, I'm an odd, unpredictable quirky force of nature. Bring it on. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to figure out how to make a living doing what I love. Re-adjusting to the country that bred me. Pondering the trade-off between eating something horrible and how long I'd have to work out to burn it off the next day. Contemplating the nature of genuine romance.
I’m really good at
Writing, Reading, having really long Netflix/Crunchy Roll marathons. Putting on my face. Cuddling with my dog. Cuddling in general. Using big words. Spending hours on Pintrest when I should be working .
The first things people usually notice about me
Depends on the kind of person you are. About thirty percent of people notice I'm pretty loquacious upon meeting me for the first time. The other seventy percent notice my ass. I'm not judging. Work what your momma gave you and all that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
So, I'm going to go with generalizations, elsewise this list would go on forever.

Neil Gaimen,Stephen King,George R.R Martin,Roald Dahl, Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, Jude Deveroux, Micheal Crighton, Lawrence Yep, Garth Ennis, Frank Miller, Greg Rucka, Jose Luis Borges, Miguel Unamuno, The Brothers Grimm, Kenneth Follet, Louisa May Alcott, Dean Koontz, Langston Hughes, John S. Marr, Chen Guidi, Wu Chuntao, Hiyao Miyazaki, Grant Morrison and numerous others.

Anything done byPixar, Star Wars, Star Trek Movies, The A-Team, The Last Samurai, Memoirs of a Geisha, Dreams of Red Chamber, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Most Kung-Fu Movies, Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door, Ninja Scroll, Akira, All Miyazaki Movies, All Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman movies, Interview with a Vampire, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Cloud Atlas, The Haunting, Karas, Kakurenbo: Hide and Seek, Tekkonkinkreet, Book of Eli, Die Hard movies, Kick-Ass, Batman, Batman Begins, Creed, Prisoners...you might have noticed that this list is comprised of a lot of Anime, and mindless action. Disclaimer: I do not take my movies very seriously most of the time. I watch movies to be entertained, not to be depressed, scared witless, or preached to. That said, I can be talked into a well done drama or horror flick on good days.

I don't watch a lot of it, but: House, Firefly, Community, Conan, CSI (Any location), World's Deadliest Warrior, 1000 Ways to Die, Life, Blue Planet, I Survived, Brooklyn 99, Game of Thrones, The Wire, Sense8, Sherlock and select other shows.

I prefer things with a beat, but abhor most rap. With music, however, I'm a pretty open book. Just play it and I'll tell you straight up if I like or dislike it. I'm particularly fond of old jazz, big band, hip-hop, reggaeton, salsa, bachata, some country, and certain rock bands. A sampling of Artists on my ipod: Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, The Beatles, Muddy Waters, Kumbia Kings, Daddy Yankee, Norah Jones, Micheal Buble, Zac Brown Band, Utada Hikaru, and Daft Punk.

I'm allergic to coconut, and certain weird brands of jelly. Other than that, bring it on. My life's a food adventure.
