My self-summary
Update - My girlfriend (whom i am VERY committed to), and I are exploring polyamory, so I am looking for an intelligent wonan who is open to dating a man in that situation.

I'm basically an all around nerd, into gaming, computers, sci-fi, fantasy, reading, music, science, politics, and movies. I'm just curious about the world and I love to learn all I can about it.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma, but I don't exactly fit the OK mold. Someday, perhaps I'll escape to the Northeast or to jolly, old England. I'm not outdoorsy at all. In fact, I tell people that I'm an indoor animal, which I think further pushes me outside the norm for Oklahoma.

I tend to be shy until I get to know someone and I tend to be less shy when I'm not around large groups of people I don't know well. My sense of humor ranges from cheesy puns (I love plays on words, so sometimes I can't help myself) to dry & snarky. I'm also not very judgemental; I've made way too many mistakes in my life, so who am I to judge others?
What I’m doing with my life
Right now, I'm just living life as best I can, working, and trying to be the best person I can be. I taught myself to play the piano not too long ago, but I haven't had the time to practice in a while. Someday, I'd like to learn to play the guitar. I also play chess, competitively, but again, haven't had time lately.
I’m really good at
Games of all kinds: card games, board games, video games, etc. I'm also good at learning things; I seem to pick up odd facts pretty easily. Surely, I'm good at something else, but I"m drawing a blank. I'm sure if I've piqued your interest, we'll figure it out in conversation.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically, I don't know, but the comments I most often hear soon after meeting people are that I'm smart or that I'm funny (funny ha-ha...I hope, at least).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh, where to start....
Music - almost anything with piano, especially Ben Folds. Also, almost anything else, although I'm not a big country fan. If I had to pick one genre, it would probably be 80's pop.

Books - a little bit of everything...the Game of Thrones series, Harry Potter, Stephen King, 1984, Sherlock Holmes, Asimov, H P Lovecraft...a pretty eclectic mix.

Movies - Star Wars, The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Serenity, bad horror movies, comedies, sci-fi, and action movies. I don't usually care for romantic comedies, but only because most of them are too predictable/stale.

Shows - Dr. Who, Firefly, Impractical Jokers, The Daily Show, Game of Thrones, Archer

Food - I'm a bit of a foodie (too much time watching Top Chef), so I have a lot of favorites. About the only thing I don't care for is sushi.
The six things I could never do without
books
games
music
sex
someone interesting to talk to
laughter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
science
the future (both my personal future and the future of humanity)
politics
religion
On a typical Friday night I am
Walking one of my dogs, reading, playing a game (or running a d&d or Star Wars rpg), playing/listening to music, or headed out to a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a reformed Republican and I voted for George W. Bush the first time, but not the second.
You should message me if
If you can hold and would enjoy an intelligent conversation about more than the latest episode of Real Housewives.
