My self-summary
Right, I'm weird. There's no getting around that. I listen to country music, I play nerdy games, I paint figures, I read comics.

I grew up out in rural Saskatchewan with my nose in a book. I'm told I act more than twice my age, and I can't disagree with that. So call me an old soul, though young at heart is almost as appropriate.

At 26, I've got a rough idea where I want to go, I just have to get there. I'd like to work in creating things, preferably to help people get along easier. However, to help those who really need it tends to require a lot of capital. Getting from where I am to there is the next step, I guess.

And yes, I do have a zombie plan.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to further my education while not letting it take over my life. This goes hand in hand with my choosing of where I want to go. I do want to get into post-secondary training, but picking what sort is difficult. The plan right now is to get into electrical engineering.

I'm working full time right now, setting myself in a stable enough position that I can go to school without sending myself back to live under my parent's roof.
I’m really good at
Concentrating within my area of interest. Seeing the way things might work. Finding ways to put things together in different ways. Seeing the world around me for it's positive potential. I'm also clear headed and calm under pressure.
The first things people usually notice about me
The eccentric mannerisms. The occasional Batman shirt. Blue eyes...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: As a Trekkie, I'm a fan of the first ten movies, and I tolerate the eleventh. Same goes for the series. Sci-fi is a staple of my movie collection. I also enjoy movies that make you think, even if I don't get it the first time 'round. Some notable exceptions are:
A Good Year
The Last Castle
The Arrow
Shake Hands With The Devil
She's Out Of My League

Television: Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Doctor Who, the X-Files, Babylon 5, Stargate SG-1, just about anything science fiction is enough to get my interest. There's also:
Republic of Doyle
Daily Planet
Canada's Worst Handyman/Driver
Junk Raiders

Literature: I'm currently going through A Dance With Dragons, couldn't hold out for the paperback any longer, and the Dark Tower series gets a special place on my shelf. Same goes for most of Dan Abnett's books. I'm usually on the lookout for something new to read. Notable include:
Shake Hands With The Devil
Zombie Survival Guide
World War Z

Music: If the hat didn't give it away, I enjoy country music. Other music is a case by case basis. Great Big Sea, and Captain Tractor get a pass though. Some Tragically Hip, and a couple Genesis songs are among the not-country I like. I should mention I do sing karaoke, though how well is a matter of judgement.
The six things I could never do without
My paints
Time to think
Time for total relaxation
A writing implement
The horizon
Confidence in the friends I keep
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where we as a country, species, world, and various other demographics are going to be, and whether I want to live there.
On a typical Friday night I am
Reading something, either on paper or the web. There are occasions when I get dragged into a neverending wiki-walk. Also, TV Tropes is the natural predator of free time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I'm weird. That things that just make sense to most people don't always make sense to me.
