My self-summary
I'm an artsy guy, kind, charming, funny, intelligent, stress-free, well-read, Social Democrat, and environmentally & community active. I was the Good Neighbor of 2010 in my neighborhood.

5' 11", 180 lbs., lots of hair, and blue eyes. like to walk, talk, eat properly, drinks coffee, and smokes a pipe or cigars.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm doing whatever I want. I worked in Corporate America and realized that nothing can drain the life out of a person more than that! Now I work on art projects (writing, drawing, painting), and gardening.
I’m really good at
Here's what I am good at gardening & drawing/painting. I have helped start community gardens.

I can tell you anything about any one in Hollywood films during the period of 1920-1945. I know - it's nerdy!

What I am really good at is talking and making strangers feel comfortable enough to chat with me. I'm good at bicycling, walking and drinking coffee. These are the things that make me happy.
The first things people usually notice about me
My thick hair and blue eyes. I'm kind, charming, and funny.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
"Tess of the D'Ubervilles", "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn", "We, the Living", "Good Night, Sweet Prince", Kurt Vonnegut, Wendell Berry, Steinbeck, Sinclair Lewis, ....., I guess most authors from the 20th century.

My Favorite film is "The Misfits" w/Gable & Marilyn Monroe. I tend to be a Hollywood historian of the era from 1920-1945. I love seeing lots of movies and I will sit through most genres. I like independent or foreign films over Hollywood stuff - though the Riverview & the Hopkins 6 are good places to catch up on Hollywood mainstream.

I don't own a TV. The last Television show that I loved was "Northern Exposure". When it was cancelled I threw my TV away.

I prefer a mixture of music styles. I prefer classical, big band, vocalists from another time period, Cole Porter, Gershwins, Bing Crosby, Artie Shaw, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Belafonte, Joy Division//New Order, anything you can dance to.

I'll eat anything, but sauerkraut. I prefer Indian or Caribbean food best.
Six things I could never do without
I don't even know how to answer this question - never? I don't like questions like this. Once I don't have it I realize that I miss it. I would hate to lose any of my senses. I suppose my friends too. Materialistic goods are wasted on me. I have no sense about brand names or any of the latest electronic toys. I'm pretty simple in my life. I can live without a car.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my writing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday night is more of a rest period for me. I'm pretty open the rest of the days for hanging out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm very open and willing to talk about anything.
You should message me if
You like artsy, kind, funny, quirky guys. My favorite times have been sitting with someone in a field and just painting. You are an old soul and appreciate the things of the past.
