My self-summary
I'm from St. Mary's County, down in Southern Maryland.

Moved to Catonsville, on the south-western edge of baltimore. Living in an apartment close to UMBC with a roommate. It's comfy. Moving to Ellicott City soon.

Went to UMBC and got a bachelor's in information systems.
Graduated after Fall 2011. I've dabbled in programming (java), web development (html, javascript, etc), databases (sql), and networking.

I work as a junior systems administrator in a small environment.
Kinda neat. Kinda meh. Standard 8-5 weekdays schedule.

Turned atheist partway through college when I went and tried to research and defend my own beliefs. That was a serious experience.

I don't watch or care about sports. I'll run around in a field and play the sports, but I generally don't watch football, baseball, etc.

I started snowboarding a couple years ago and it is my newfound passion. When the mountains close I play dagorhir, which is one of the pictures I have. People show up to battles and beat the crap out of each other with padded weapons. Great fun.

Although one of my pictures is me at the rally to restore sanity, my political opinions aren't very strong and are not very researched, so I don't pretend to know the answers to political debates. The fellow I went with took that sign I was holding. I had just learned about QR codes and thought that it was the funniest sign ever. Lots of trolling that day. Good times. Anyway, that's the kind of nerdy stuff I'm interested in. The politics of the entire thing didn't really matter to me.
EDIT: Bernie Sanders has definitely wooed my heart recently. This election cycle has garnered the most interest from me.

Don't want kids. They can be cute sometimes. They take a lot of time though. Errgh. I'm living life for me, I don't want to live life through some kids.
What I’m doing with my life
Graduated with bachelor's in information systems from UMBC. Working full time as junior systems administrator.

Hobbies! Gotta do the job to make the money to be able to do the things I want to do!

I have a bass guitar I try to pick up once in a while and try to play some notes that sound okay for about 10 minutes. I'm hoping that I'll sound like I've been playing for a few years, after going with this rate for about 20 years.

I got into sailing. Long ago I figured sailing was a joke and really boring. Turns out it's not that bad. The speeds are a little faster than you might think given the wind, and the views are pretty special. I've been on a handful of races at this point.

Also snowboarding. After you fall on your face for the 30th time it really grows on you! Seriously, it's hard, but they tell me the investment is totally worth it, so I'm keeping the dream!
EDIT: They were right. Turns out the investment yields about a 600% return.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
How can I fit more stuff into my room? What if I got a bunk bed and threw stuff up on top? What if I had a hammock high up in my room? What if I put a bunk bed over my couch in the living room? Then I could have more guests chillin out in front of the tv. Hmmmmmmmmmm....

Also religion and philosophy, but a little less so these days.
The Mormons knocked on my door. 3 of them. White shirts with ties. It made my day. I invited them all in and talked with them for several hours. We were all very polite about everything - I just enjoyed the open and honest discussion.

The Google car that drives itself. Yes please please please. Have you seen it yet? It's coming. So excited.
On a typical Friday night I am
Gearing up for whatever activity or adventure is planned for that weekend and playing computer games online with friends. (Erm, not MMO's, I just want to make that clear.) Or sometimes I'll invite a bunch of people over to watch a movie at my place.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The list of good books I've read is fairly short. I would say I read, but mainly nonfiction.
I'll tell you way more embarrassing stuff if you ask me though.
You should message me if
- your life goals don't involve babies.
- you're not religious.
