My self-summary
I am funny, witty, self-sufficient, and a self proclaimed nerd. I have many acquaintances, but few friends as I feel the label of friendship is special and not to be thrown around lightly. I have my times where I just like peace and quiet and other times where I like to socialize. I love good conversation and have a great sense of humor.
What I’m doing with my life
My current goal is to be able to set up a studio and grow it. Almost everything I do is geared towards setting this up. And while some sacrifice is needed to accomplish this goal, I don't sacrifice things meant for my kids and I realize that I need to do things for me as well.
I’m really good at
Cooking, helping people, and making people laugh. I like to help people and always hope for the best. People should go through life feeling good about themselves and laughing along the way.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't not talk, sound, or act the way people think I would. I also have have a small shy streak that can emerge occasionally.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is difficult to answer, as I enjoy much in each of these categories.
With books, I don't typically read fiction as I have a number of projects I am working on at any given time. I do read non-fiction (I own The Screenwriter's Bible, How to Write for Animation, and The Elements of Style, among others).
My tastes for movies (warning: I like anime) and shows vary and sometimes depends on my mood. I like stand up comedy as well.
My music tastes vary widely. I kid you not. Name a genre of music and I will probably have it on my phone... and some you wouldn't expect.
My food tastes... you guessed it... vary as well. It can be really simplistic to complex. Some days I want to stick with something normal (ha ha, what's normal?) and other days I'm willing to try almost anything. And if I find something I really like, I guarantee I will try (and succeed) in replicating it!
Six things I could never do without
1. My kids - They are not things but they do top my list. My kids have helped define me and I can't imagine my life without them.
2. My imagination - Being a writer, my imagination is always moving and bleeds into many aspects of my life. I love it.
3. My phone - My phone is my mobile connection to the internet and has my music player. I don't know why people think this is sad; it just proves that they knew what they were doing in Star Trek.
4. My music - Music helps drive my imagination. When a song that syncs with me starts playing, my imagination takes off. With that being said, my music tastes vary widely.
5. My netbook - With laptops and tablets ruling today's pc world, you don't here much about netbooks, which I find to be a perfect balance between the two. Grab a fifteen dollar vga cable, and my tv becomes a 40 inch monitor :-)
6. Movies - I love movies. All types. Even some off the bad ones.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my projects and stories, the future for myself and my girls, and sometimes thoughts of fun slip in there.
On a typical Friday night I am
It depends. I don't know why people go out on Friday when you can rest after working and spend that awesome new energy for things on Saturday (and then rest again on Sunday)! Of course, every once in a while, I am known to go out on Friday in St Pete (for First Friday). Otherwise, I am usually open on Friday nights.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am a big fan of forbidden love, which I define as a love that will not/can not happen in a story, but you want it to happen. There is a lot of it in anime (Ranma 1/2 is a good example). Will and Grace is a good example (although I never really watched the show).
You should message me if
you are interested in me. I mean, why else would you?
