My self-summary
I'm a more normal guy than appearance might suggest. Sure, I'm disabled (I'm happy to talk about it, for those who are curious), but other than that, I'm just a normal guy. I'm a May 2009 graduate of Wake Forest University , English major. I love writing, video games, computers, music, comedy, and basketball and football, especially the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, hence the username. I'm a native of New Jersey, but since coming to Wake Forest, I live here in the Winston-Salem area.

A few summers ago (June 6, 2010 to August 14) I had a 10-week "academic internship" in Washington, D.C. working at the national chapter of Mental Health America, the nation's largest network of non-profit mental health resource centers. It's was a great experience, and if you want to know more, ask! Also I'm working part time for the Wake Forest University Athletic Department as a Disability Services Consultant.

I'm a part time professional public speaker, disability advocate, sports blogger, jokester, and was a radio DJ on the WFU radio station before graduation. Want to know more? Just ask!

I am open, warm, and strong. I'm a lover of (almost) everyone, and a fighter for what I'd like to think is the greater good.
What I’m doing with my life
Well, I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing, to be honest. Sure, the public speaking and advocacy is a big part of my life, but other than that, my future is wide open. I wouldn't say I'm aimless, more that I have a lot of interests and passions, and so my future may take me down a lot of different roads.

If I was to have to choose a dream job right now, I'd say writer, but I could also see myself as a teacher, radio DJ, full-time speaker, or any number of other things.

Mostly, I'm trying to enjoy my youth, yet not lose sight of the future.
I’m really good at
A lot of things, apparently. Writing, making people laugh, speaking, and expressing myself.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, other than the obvious wheelchair part, I've been told my smile catches a lot of eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books-wise, I like it all. That's not to say I'm a massive reader, I'm more of a writer, but I rarely pick up a book I end up disliking. Fantasy, sci-fi, drama, mystery, even a little horror.

Movies are a similar bag. I like a bit of everything. In terms of favorites, though, Monty Python and the Holy Grail has always been a favorite of mine simply because it never ceases to be funny.

Music is an absolute passion of mine. Very rarely do I not have a song in my head. Again though, I'm all over the place. My first love is rock of various types, with bands like Our Lady Peace, Eve 6, Incubus, Audiovent, July For Kings, etc. Then I like some ska, with bands like Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, and Spring Heeled Jack, USA. There's the more eclectic or hard to pin down stuff, like 311 and Citizen King. Hell, I even like some hip-hop. And I'll definitely be telegraphing my nerdy side here, but I'm a sucker for really good video game music remixes, like the ones found at OverClocked Remix. There's tons of music I'm forgetting, but that should give you some idea anyway.

Food? I'm not a picky eater in the slightest. In fact, I love variety. (Picking up a theme here?) Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, and obviously good old fashioned American food...I'll try anything, and chances are I'll probably at least not mind it.

As you can tell, I'm a guy who's all about variety of experiences, and I wanna take in as much as I can for as long as I can.
Six things I could never do without
1. Friends and family
2. Music
3. Laughter (see also Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Whose Line Is It Anyway?
4. Computers

Wait. That's only four. Damn.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either writing, chatting, net surfing, studying, listening to music, playing video games, or going out to a party!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sex crosses my mind plenty, just like anybody else. A lot of people assume it doesn't, but yeah, I'm "normal" in that sense.
You should message me if
You're looking for anything whatsoever. Friendship, love, someone to talk to, a new experience...I'm here to see what develops, simple as that, and I love meeting new people.

If you're looking for a kind, open, unique kind of guy, I'm your man.
