My self-summary
Denver native who spent nearly a decade living and working in China. I'm looking to meet new friends and hopefully, someone special.

My ideal partner in crime would love art and culture, be worldly, intelligent, easy-going, mature, honest, sensitive, compassionate, friendly, adventurous, love traveling, cooking, drinking and dancing. I share a lot of those qualities as well. Can you tell I don't really believe opposites attract? I'm can be silly and goofy a lot of the time, but I have a serious, contemplative side as well.

I believe in the friends first school of dating, and I'm not in a rush to be in a relationship without getting to know someone first.

Dislikes: judgmental, intolerant, close-minded, immature, non-drinkers, cilantro, insincerity, homebodies (a night at home is nice every now and then, but I like going out as well)
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a nonprofit, children-focused organization and absolutely love my job.

Other things I've been busying myself with:

- Discovering hidden restaurants and bars across Asia
-Writing and photographing my way across the globe
-Winning every single time I play Cards Against Humanity
-Impressing your Chinese-speaking grandmother with my Mandarin skills
I’m really good at
-Not knowing the right thing to say
-Over-analyzing things
-Being a good friend
The first things people usually notice about me
My earth-shaking deep voice. When people speak to me on the phone without meeting me in person, they imagine I'm about a foot taller and 150 pounds heavier.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Dave Brubeck, Cat Power, Astrud Gilberto, Beck, Elvis Costello, The Police, Velvet Underground, Hot Chip, The Cardigans, Bjork, David Bowie, The Kinks, Ladytron, The White Stripes, Mirah, Junior Boys, Stevie Wonder, Xiao Yaxuan

The Wanting Seed (Anthony Burgess)
Ficciones (Jorge Louis Borges)
Despair (Vladimir Nabokov)

City of Lost Children, Run Lola Run, Metropolis, Pi, Goodnight and Good Luck, Match Point, Django Unchained, The Triplets of Belleville, Igby Goes Down, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Harold and Maude

See it Now, The Critic, Sports Night, The Daily Show, Modern Family, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld
The six things I could never do without
-Drinks and good conversation
-An eclectic music library
-Blue skies
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have an equal love for things that are high culture (Renaissance art, classical music, film noir), and things that are decidedly low culture (reality TV, fried chicken).
You should message me if
You think we could be friends.

You are mature, compassionate, worldly, and are looking for a stable, potentially long-term, relationship.

You can show me some cool spots around town.

You speak Chinese.

Also, a big plus if you can sing the theme song to the Animaniacs, or quote Calvin and Hobbes.
