My self-summary
Here's a piece of writing I wrote that pretty much sums it all up for me:

I am not impressed by what car you drive
How big your house is
Or even what your titles and degrees are

What matters to me is
Can you stay looking me in the eyes
While we are making love

When your friends are suffering
Do you go to them

When there is tragedy in the world
Do you let your heart break

Can you find compassion, empathy, and forgiveness
For those who have harmed you
Including yourself

Does it matter to you
To ease the suffering of others
Including those you don't know
And may never be praised by

Can you look into the eyes of the dying
Without flinching

Can you see the beauty and mystery all around you
And do you ever drop to your knees in gratitude
At the unbearable wonder and awe of it all

Do you allow life to break you open

Do you laugh often, love fully, and cry freely

Can you dance or pray

Until YOU have dissolved

And all that is left is LOVE

My vision for us:

We've gotten to the point in our lives where we've learned to let go of the small stuff. We spend most of our time feeling grateful for each other and the blessings in our lives. We've done enough inner contemplation and meditation to be mindful of how precious this one life is, and we tend to the things and people that are important to us. We laugh easily and frequently with each other. We value kindness, cherish each other, and seek to find ways to mindfully express that to each other often. We are comfortable being silent together, and often fall asleep with our toes curled around each other. We enjoy physical intimacy and make time for it. We are playful and mischievous, and when something needs to be discussed, we do so with respect, curiosity, and a genuine desire to understand each other.

We know that we are lucky beyond reason to have found each other and we care for that blessing daily.
What I’m doing with my life
Fantasizing a lot about how my life will change when my last child goes off to college in a few years...imagining a round-the-world travel experience. Wondering how I can more deeply serve this planet and the people on it. Seeking to find even more ways to express loving-kindness.
I’m really good at
Emotional intelligence, communicating vulnerably through difficult issues, listening deeply, loving fully and completely, laughing wholeheartedly, dancing, finding empathy and compassion for difficult places.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, my smile, my laugh, and my hair.

The six things I could never do without
Lovemaking, time by the ocean, time spent talking and laughing with good friends, travel to foreign countries, my children, laughter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to be the greatest contribution of love in a hurting world.
How the fuck has Donald Trump gotten this far?!
On a typical Friday night I am
Either hunkered in at home enjoying some precious solitude, or out to dinner with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My heart is tender and open, and I am bold and courageous.
