My self-summary
I am an Israeli-American event promoter living in the Philadelphia area.

I currently work on the following events:
The Philadelphia Renaissance Faire(, a renaissance faire in my beloved city of Philadelphia.
Dorian's Parlor (, a steampunk event
The Gilded Festival (, another Steampunk event
Dracula's Ball (, a goth event
The Philadelphia Zombie Crawl, Zombie Prom, and Zombie Beach Party (, which are, if you haven't guessed, zombie events
The Aviary (, a fetish/kink/bdsm event.
The Twisted World, a multi-genre 18+ event

I am also the former Artistic Director for Jeff Mach Events in New Jersey.

When not running events, I am a graduate student at Drexel University's LeBow business school in the M.B.A./M.S. Business Analytics program, having graduated a few years ago from Temple University with degrees in religion studies and political science.

I am one of the co-founders of the non-profit, residential, academic summer camp, SPARC, which caters to the gifted/talented crowd.

In what passes for free time, I am an avid reader and writer, love music in all its forms, and enjoy baking.

I am married, and have another lifelong partner, but am open to other relationships, though this profile is really just a remnant that I use to promote events. I am not opposed to new partners, but my schedule tends to be rather full.

Finally, I am a heart transplant recipient, going on ten years with a new heart.
What I’m doing with my life
In addition to working on events, business school, and day to day life, I am also working on writing a novel, writing music, and helping promote a few companies and bands, including MayFaire Moon Corsets, Platform One, and The Dark Clan.
I’m really good at
First of all, I'm good at listening.
I can maintain multiple lines of conversation at once, or split my attention in ways that leave me fully focusing on several things without any of them suffering.

I'm also good at seeing the best in people. I think people are generally good, and have seen that born out whenever I've given people the chance.

Lastly, I am good at baking and cooking. I love to cook around specific dietary restrictions, and tend to look at it as a special challenge.
The first things people usually notice about me
Usually it's my visual appearance. I'm about 6'2" with long brown hair and beard, giving me a slightly Jesus-like look when I'm not wearing my tophat.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A.)Hope for the Flowers by Trina Paulus, The Alien Blood Trilogy by Joan D. Vinge, His Dark Materials Trilogy by Phillip Pullman, The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo, Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak, Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller, Hardwired by Walter Jon Williams, The Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett, We by Yevgeny Zamyatin, Distraction by Bruce Sterling, and many more.

B.) Pump Up The Volume, Six String Samurai, Princess Bride, Boondock Saints, Walk on Water, Yossi and Jagger

C.) This is the wrong thing to ask a DJ, but I'm primarily into Goth/Industrial, and now steampunk, so I'll try to create an alphabetical list of some of my favorite bands.

And One, Apoptygma Berzerk, Assemblage 23, Concrete Blonde, Covenant, Dark Clan, Ego Likeness, Leaether Strip, Nitzer Ebb, Platform One, Stromkern, This Way to the Egress, ThouShaltNot, Wolfsheim, and many more.

D.)Anything I can learn to cook. I specialize in Indian and Israeli food (my family is from Israel, but my stepmother is from India). I have two brisket recipes that I won years ago in a poker game that have made committed vegetarians decide to make special exceptions. I also love to bake, and make white chocolate pound cakes, honey ginger cookies, chocolate chip cookies, tea cookies, and breads when I need to destress..
The six things I could never do without
1. My friends/family.
2. Books, music, and love
3. Transplant medicine
4. A sense of humor
5. Events to work on
6. Technology
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Events, inventions, music, and politics.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either organizing an event or attending an event and promoting one of my own simultaneously.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
At the request of several friends, I am noting that I once owned a nanny goat that stole and destroyed an Israeli army jeep. The story involved has been told so often that not only can several of my friends recite it by heart, but it is also being developed into a children's book from the perspective of the goat.

Also, I recently had a song written for me, and every time I feel down, I listen to it for an ego-boost,
You should message me if
You are curious about any of my events, or you feel like it, or you want to have a conversation about the prevalence of privilege in science fiction and fantasy literature with respect to time and location of publication.
