My self-summary
At heart, I'm a philosopher, an artist and a mad scientist. Pushing the boundaries of this world and creating my own when this one simply won't do. In practice, I tend to choose loafing around and trivial diversions over getting something done.

As far as maturity goes, I was never young, but still a child from time to time.

One thing I should probably mention: My username, "Diamondshade". It's something I came up with when I was 13, and it sounded really cool back then. I've used it all around the net since (Though apparently there's a Texan who's set on claiming it for himself) and carried it over here as well. It may be slightly embarassing at this age, but it's the alias I once chose for myself, and I don't believe in having regrets.

For what it's worth, I fairly consistently get INTJ on personality tests - though the J has almost zero weight behind it.

On faith: I've been called the worst Discordian ever. I've questioned everything, then questioned everything again, and so on. After all, a conclusion is only where you stopped thinking. The result of all this is a fragmented worldview that delves deeply into the realms of philosophy. The good news is that I've started to make some sense of this whole mess. The bad news is that I lack the words and coherence to communicate my ideas well.

I guess I should state some things in simple terms. I am not:
-A theist. I do not believe in a god.
-An atheist. I do not believe that no being that could be considered a god could conceivably exist. Actually, I can conceive of several such hypothetical beings.
-An agnostic. I do not believe that it must be impossible to obtain knowledge concerning the existence of higher beings, discounting extreme solipsism, which I've sort of broken through, even.

I'm an interested to hear and debate the religious or spiritual beliefs of other people, and I'm willing to let people believe whatever they wish as long as they don't forcibly push their views on other people.
What I’m doing with my life
I try to look at my life as a piece of art. It's sort of a work in progress, and most perspectives probably can't appreciate it. That's ok, though. I create mainly for my own sake, anyway.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Just a few off the top of my head...

Books: (It's been a while since I did a lot of reading)

Music is a trickier topic. I mostly only like individual pieces. There are, however, a few artists that I've learned to appreciate, though fandom or subculture has never been my thing, in music or otherwise. Without further ado, such artists include:
-Nightwish (pre-breakup)
-Toto Cutugno
-Yuki Kajiura
-Midnight Oil
-Nobuo Uematsu
-John Williams
-Jeremy Soule
-J.S. Bach
-Loreena McKennitt

Games. Now we're talking.
-Dwarf Fortress
-Chrono Trigger
-Fallout 1 and 2
-Battlefield 1942
-Master of Orion
-Alpha Centauri
-Heroes of Might and Magic 2, 3 and 4
-Dominions 3
-Diablo 2
-Advance Wars
-Phoenix Wright
-Jagged Alliance 2
-Space Empire 3, 4 and 5

Since I read a lot of webcomics, I think I'll list a few of my favorites here:
-Girl Genius
-xkcd (Heck, the holistic browser is what brought me to okcupid to begin with)
-Gunnerkrigg Court
-Schlock Mercenary
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The nature of the cosmos, the physical and the metaphysical, alternative realities, the future of humanity, whether we'll have a habitable planet anymore in 50 years, the upcoming inevitable fall of the western world, implications of scientific findings and transhumanism.
On a typical Friday night I am
All over this world and others, that is to say, on my computer, browsing the internet, keeping in touch with my friends, playing games and occasionally indulging in less interactive forms of digital entertainment.
You should message me if feel like it. I'm not looking for anything in particular, and I'll be willing to get to know anyone.
