My self-summary
I fall hard for people trying to do good in the world. Empathy and compassion are sexy as hell.

Beauty is important to me. I like to go to SAM and the symphony and the ballet. I like walking through the fog on a quiet morning and the sharp blue of the sky on a cold day. I like Cinerama and SIFF. I like wheat berries and local wine and exposed brick and gaslight. I like the flower the barista draws in my cappuccino.

My work needs to be meaningful, because the alternative is too depressing. I am a feminist (of course). I cut most of my hair off in November and keep cutting it shorter every month. (It's kind of addictive.) I don't own a car or a TV but I do love my Netflix. I own two nice pairs of jeans and two nice pairs of shoes and cycle back and forth between them. I like dogs. I recycle.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a grad student at UW, working on the 1st half of an MA/PhD. I study contemporary activism, which means studying activists' use of social media. I love my work, grad school is often stressful, but I don't need to talk about either all the time.
The first things people usually notice about me
My short hair. Yes, it's a bit dyke-y.

I find the term "hard femme" describes my gender self-presentation pretty well. I'm uncomfortable dressing very butch (men's clothing) or very femme (heels and make-up). I'm most attracted to men.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out at the Seattle Symphony (student tickets are only $12!) or watching a crime drama on Netflix. (Favs are old Law and Order, original CSI, Sherlock)
You should message me if
You're a feminist, kind, smart, funny, and idealistic.
